This place is a fun blast from the past. The ice cream is wonderful. And yes, be ready for kids having post-soccer season treats.

I was disappointed after all the hype I??d heard about Homers. I thought it was good, but not amazing ice cream. It is an old fashioned ice cream parlor, but I wasn??t overly impressed by the product itself. Granted, I really like ice cream and have tried similar places all over the country, but I wouldn??t rate it above average. Buy some Ben and Jerry??s and stay at home ?? and when you??re in Oakland CA go to Fentons and see how good Homers could be in a different life. PROS: close by, and has free parking CONS: the ice cream doesn't live up to the hype

this place has the best tasting ice cream around. we stopped in on our way home one time. in the phone book it said that they were rated finest peach ice cream so i decided to have that. i can't even explain to you how great it was because it was that good. i have never had peach ice cream before so i was in heaven. my husband had a fresh fruit sorbets which i tasted and it was so fresh. the best thing is that if i ever have a craving for it and can't drive there, because it is way out of my way, they ship nationwide. thank god for that. PROS: gold medal winner CONS: kind of far
