“delicious bque sandwiches”
“The service is friendly!”
Don't bother. Whatever food that gives me indigestion and a dirty sticky atmosphere. The people are fairly friendly, I guess. Try the new place in Woodstock Y'all! It rocks, a tad expensive though. Cheaper than the Texan
Great BBQ served here!. Went twice in two days because once just wasn't enough! Had baby back ribs the first time and they were melt-in-your mouth tender with an amazing taste. Second time tried the 1/2 chicken and found the same tenderness with it's own amazing flavor. If I lived closer to here I would be a regular. As it is I have something AWESOME to look forward to on my next trip to town. Don't be put off by the restaurant's appearance, you're there for the food. The food here is worth eating if you have to sit in the middle of a mud puddle!
Real Texas Barbeque.
Having a love of BBQ and having been to Texas a number of times, I can say you can have
the real thing right here without making the trip. I don't know anywhere else in the Midwest to get the real Texas chili (all meat, no beans). All the barbeque is smoked slow, and the sauces are true to form (get the hot or mix it). A friend from Texas felt right at home here-not surprising since the owner is from Texas. Also a great selection of beers and soft drinks. Ambience? Perfect for what it is!
Great little hole in the wall. It doesn't look like much, but the food is terrific. We've been going there for close to 20 years. Try the "Big D". It's the best! Great chili also. Three barbeque sauces to choose from!
very good 'que despite rundown appearance. Don't be too put off by the appearance: it is rundown outside and even more so inside; and you are assaulted by hot, stuff air when you open the front door and walk through the "parlor" area towards where you order. YUCK! Enough to make anyone turn around and leave. Persist, however! The barbeque is very good -- just remember it as TAKE OUT rather than eat in. The dining area is slightly seedy; the tables and gummy feeling. Get your food to go, with a blanket you can travel a block up to the banks of the Fox River and have a wonderful summer picnic.
