“Awful food, rude people”
Robertos brings the elegance and intimacy of classic Italy to the Western Suburbs of Chicago. The Tuscan murals and warm earth tones emulate the sophistication of Italy. Our private dining rooms are fit to accommodate private parties for an event your family and friends will enjoy. The charming and relaxed ambience is perfect for a romantic night out or a comfortable evening with the family. The interior decorating will allure you with its Italian charm, but the exquisite cuisine is what really shines. Our specialties include homemade pastas with savory fillings and sauces, chicken parmesan, gourmet pizzas and salads, delicious desserts, and much more. Popular Carry Out and Delivery Items include, flaky thin-crust, pan and stuffed pizzas, pastas, panzerotti and sandwiches are available on the pizzeria side. …
Disappointing, at best....
Having recently returned to the Chicago Metro area, one of my first goals was to gorge myself on some of the (usually) amazing pizza. I ordered both the "Bianca", Roberto's signature white pizza topped with garlic, artichoke and olive oil and a traditional red pizza with cheese and sausage.
The Bianca was an utter disappointment. While Roberto's definitely did not skimp on the artichoke, (which I appreciated) there was no noticeable or even visible garlic on the pie...and the olive oil? Are we rationing? It was so dry, it literally sucked the moisture out of my mouth. A little of the missing garlic might have helped to generate the saliva necessary to swallow it.
The only saving grace was the more mundane red pizza which, while simple, had the robust and well-rounded flavor that one would expect from a region and a restaurant famous for its pies.
I've been an ardent fan of Roberto's in the distant past and it saddens me to give them a shabby review...but they earned it. I doubt they could have survived in such a pizza-intensive area so long by relaxing their once-noble standards, so I'm almost hoping there was some odd problem...maybe it was a bad night, maybe it was a new employee, maybe there *is* an unknown shortage in the olive oil and garlic markets...but I will give them another shot and hopefully a better review in the near future.
Awful food, rude people. First of all, a pizza shouldnt cost like 30 bucks. Second of all, it was the worst pizza Ive ever had. But the worst thing was that the people there were so unbelieveably rude that we'll never be back. There are plenty of other restaurants that we can go to that dont treat their customers disrespectfully.
Master Pizza Artisans. This place is the best. Period. Everything on the menu is bound to satisfy, but their pizza is the crown jewel. Being a Chicago native, I have tasted lots of pizza, and this is THE place to go if you want thin crust. Tip: Order the "double dough" Roberto's Special.
