Great Food, Reasonable Prices

My husband and parents and I went there for my birthday. We had to wait a while even though we had a reservation. But I am so glad we did! I had a phenomenal filet and french onion soup, which was included! I highly recommend this place but call ahead for a reservation.

Best Steak in Chicagoland

The Golden Steer is a great find, right outside the city. The service will remind you of your family (ask for Sharon she's the best) the food will also remind you of home cooking. I recommend steak, for $30 you will get a choice cut (I like the filet mignon) cooked the way you order (true med or med plus...they know what their doing and no char), choice of potato, salad, soup and an old school awesome bread basket. The decor is not that great. Don't be frightened by the boarded up windows and once you get inside...the clock works, but you have to look at it in the mirror to see the correct time. Great food, great price...for 2 with cocktails spending over $100 is a challenge.

And the view of the city on the way back is priceless.
