The Scene
Owner Melinda Rodriguez transformed a long-neglected space into a design "do." There's not much going on from the outside, but inside is a comfortably modern interior with light wood floors, fireplace and lively aquarium. Steel vases hold fresh flowers, adding color to the mostly black and white color scheme. Relax with coffee or iced tea on the white suede couch before ascending a few steps for treatments, including a sleep-inducing shampoo, despite slightly uncomfy sinks.
The Services
The young, often tattooed, staff members wisely stick to their particular expertise. Rodriguez excels at styles, instinctively knowing what works best for your hair and face and quickly snipping for a successful cut, while someone else controls coloring, highlights, relaxers, and bleach and tone treatments. If you're getting dolled up for a special occasion, schedule an updo along with manicure and pedicure.

Roque Salon is by far the best salon in Chicago!! This is the 3rd time I've had my haircut by Melinda, who actually does listen to what I ask for, and always makes me look fabulous... I guess if someone went in and asked for a mullet or feathered bangs, she probably wouldn't listen to you, ha. Melinda introduced me to her secret weapon; Claudia who is by far the BEST eyebrow shaper ever!! There's an obvious reason she is booked 9 out of 10 times, but getting in to see her is for sure worth the wait. The VIP service Claudia offers rivals 5-star spas hands down...she always listens to everything you have to say, gives you the most precise shape, paying close attention to detail, and wraps up the appointment with any at-home maintenance or tips necessary. So, if you're looking for cutting-edge techniques, precise cuts and shapes, and wanting to look fabulous...Melinda and Claudia at Roque Salon are your best bet!!

This place is awesome, since you go in everybody treats you like a guest and not just a customer. Charles color my hair and I totally LOVE IT! he listen to everything I had to say and what I wanted, and listen to me and gave me his ideas and it turned out amazing and I came out of there as happy with my color as I could be. If you want amazing color go see Charles you won't regret it!!!
