“They usually play all the good bar songs, however the last time I was there I asked the dj to play a song for my friends birthday and in return I got a lecture on how he owns companies and he is a music director for all these bars and blah blah blah.”
“The bar staff has always been pretty nice but that a--hole was enough to make me now want to go back!”

“Having a server paid $4 an hour does not equal good service, it means you will have a lousy unhappy server who is rude and is depending on your tip money.”
Arrogance!. I actually go to this bar quite a bit, when I'm in the mood for fun 80s music. They usually play all the good bar songs, however the last time I was there I asked the dj to play a song for my friends birthday and in return I got a lecture on how he owns companies and he is a music director for all these bars and blah blah blah.... SO ARROGANT. The bar staff has always been pretty nice but that a--hole was enough to make me now want to go back!!!…
Avoid it all. BEWARE, they have the rudest servers and bouncers. Apparently this place hires people who have no customer service and have no problem getting paid $4 an hour. Having a server paid $4 an hour does not equal good service, it means you will have a lousy unhappy server who is rude and is depending on your tip money. Also they will kick you out of the bar if you order from the bartender rather than order from your server. There are tons of better bars than cans, this place is a dump!…
If you're into pop-tops, you'll feel right at home in Bucktown's hip beer-drinker's bar..
The Scene
Recent college grads and young professionals toss back beers at a raised booth or high table. The L-shaped space has a small front bar and a busier side bar. Low ceilings, dark
wood, and a well-used pool table create a cozy feeling that makes this place seem like it's been around forever. A jukebox mix of '80s, rock, pop and alt-rock is at conversation-friendly levels. Relive your wonder years with a game of Ms. Pac-Man or Centipede. In welcoming weather, floor-to-ceiling windows open to a sidewalk seating area.
The Draw
Beer in cans isn't normally the most impressive selling point, but Cans has more than two dozen. Sapporo and Double Chocolate Stout are upscale favorites, though traditionalists will find the likes of Schlitz, Old Style and Bud, too; draft and bottled beers are also available, as are cocktails and a fair selection of appetizers, burgers and sandwiches.…
Wicker Park Continues to Degrade. Gentrification is an ugly word, especially when used in conjunction with what was a thriving arts community. Today my beloved Wicker Park has become a second haven for those who either A) Lived in Lincoln Park and have moved or B) the new transient dwellers drawn to it because of Real World fame, in either case Cans is the description of a neighborhood gone south. RIP Mad Bar.…
