“nice atmosphere-but is it worth the $$?”
“She's knowledgeable and skilled about hair and color, she gave me the PERFECT shade of brown - dark, rich, espresso color.”
“I'll NEVER be going back there, or referring my friends, which is a shame because I got a nice cut in the end, but I just can't take the stupid people running the place.”
“Great Highlights - Not so great staff”
“But I would have rather paid full price and gotten the personalized attention a $100 haircut deserves.”
“They do great hair and great nails(Carmen) there and as long as they're in business I'll be there!”
Rodger was great, Friendly and helpful...everything wrapped for us. We will come back.
Fantastic experience! Def recommend to anyone needing a fresh style for an event. Was even able to rock my curls to work the next morning! Decor, and team were perfect. Say yes to BxB!
The perfect blow out experience.
From the friendly staff, to the comfortable-chic atmosphere(including complimentary bubbly and vino!) this is literally every woman's happy place come to life. At a reasonable price you leave blow by blow feeling fabulous for a day (or 3) depending on how long you can make that blow out last.
Not to mention, while being pampered you get to hangout and meet some fun new people, or you can just sit and enjoy one of the constantly playing chick-flicks depending on your mood. I have been quite a few times already and have no doubt I'll become a regular here.
best blow dry ever , highly recommend this salon! staff is super friendly and the salon is adorable! best part is, i was offer wine/champagne!! also if your hungry you can add on to your service a snack pack! how cool is that :) this place is like a little piece of heaven.
I love this place! its adorable and it was the best blow out I have ever had!I have long curly hair and Im terrified of that straight, frizzy blow out that I have gotten several times at other blow out salons. My stylist was Chloe and she made me look like a supermodel, I was so pleased. It was straight but had major volume and waves, loved it.The staff were laid back and nice as they could be.I would recommend this place to everyone.I found out they do makeup as well so Im thinking of having a girls night out pre party there:)
This is the best blow dry bar in
Chicago!!!
I've gotten my hair done here multiple times by different stylists and I loved how it turned out every time!
Very friendly staff, awesome atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!!!
This is the blow dry bar Chicago
needs!!!
I absolutely loved the blow out here from Zach. He knew exactly the look I was going for with the little direction I provided. The atmosphere is really fun. Girlie movies plus champaign-- what is not to love!?!? The staff is also so friendly and fun.
This is $35 well spent and worth spending over and over again!!! Bring your friends, sister, mother & enjoy getting pampered for a reasonable price :D
M Salon-Dariella Colorist....BEWARE....
Dariella is unreliable and is not a Master Colorist, I don't know if she claims to be, but I do not know what she is doing in an Oak Street salon in Chicago based on her skills as a colorist and her ability to keep appointments and customers. Luckily she cancelled today less than 24 hours before my scheduled appointment for tomorrow. I booked apointment during the week stressing the importance of my need to have my hair colored this weekend Sunday because of my schedule and a very important event. (I will tell you more about Dariella in a minute)
As a result of her cancelling I have found an outstanding colorist at Michael Anthony Salon named John Lorek, who got my color right and perfect the first time. Not like Dariella and other salons that I have been to.
My first session with Dariella in March 2012 was a disaster. (Although personally she is very entertaining, intelligent and has lots of charisma and exuberance. however, I was there for my hair color, not entertainment.) In my first session with her I told her I wanted brown hair and showed her pictures of myself with exactly what I wanted. I warned her that my hair has turned red from other stylists when using certain brown hair colors. She assured me this would not happen. But also tried to convince me to go red. I told her that I wanted it brown, showing her a picture of exactly how I wanted it to look pointing to my pictures on my phone. Sure enough, not only did my hair turn red it was very noticeably a very redish color on top and the bottom was a dark brown. I was horrified. I scheduled a return visit for her to fix it immediately... Which they told me would not be for an aching half a week of me looking like a clown. On the day of my return visit for my evening, after work apointnment, M salon called me to ask if I could come in 3 hours prior to appointment because Dariella wanted to leave early. (I have a job). My hair looked so horrendous that I called my boss and she agreed (since I was meeting an important client in a fews days) that it was important to accomodate the stylist. Dariella finally got the color right, after I suggested what she should do, per the person who recommended me to her who also goes to her, and has had similiar experiences, which she failed to tell me about till after Dariella ruined my hair. This person likes her work, even though she has to work with Dariella each time to get the color right.
-----Some things happen for a reason. Today Dariella having M Salon call to cancel my apointment was a blessing in disguise. I booked my apointment during the week and they called me less than 24 hours before my apointement at 1:24 on a Saturday for my Sunday apointment to say she had to leave early and couldn't service me. Also no other stylists in the salon were avialable at all, in addition, no one was available duiring the week at night.
----In this hair emergency.....my first impulse was to call Michael Anthony salon located on North and Sheffield. They have blown my curly hair straight before. They booked me with their Master Colorist: John Lorek, who used completely new products and was somehow able to "get my hair right and gorgeous" the first time. My hair looks impeccable.
Don't waste your time with Dariella. I'm not sure about the other colorists at M Salon. But if you want your hair done right the first time, call Michael Anthony and ask for John Lorek, Sincerely, Celine Adduci, Chicago, IL
Great new salon. Salon M Chicago is a great new addition to Oak Street. I love the actual salon, the decor and the staff. I got a really good haircut and am going back for highlights in the fall.
I'm glad you liked the salon, we take great pride in our work and look forward to doing your highlights soon.
