“However, this is Glen Ellyn, and a lof of things are expensive.”
Love this place.
The food here is really good. Their salsa is actually served warm. I love that, but some people don't like that. Their fajitas are very fresh tasting. I also like thier nachos. They have good guacamole, too.
I love their bar. The staff and servers here are always nice. They remember you each time you come in, which is rare.
It is a bit expensiv fow what it is. After all, Mexican ingredients are not costly. However, this is Glen Ellyn, and a lof of things are expensive.
crowded, but awesome!. Simply put, this is a VERY good Mexican restaurant. Their margaritas leave something to be desired, but the food is awesome and I highly recommend the place! Particularly one of the waitresses, Silvia ;)
Try the Adkins Marguarita...it's the best!!. Santa Fe is one of the nicest, coziest, coolest places I've ever been...don't know what that congaboy is talking about...it seems as though he was jealous of the attention his other family member received. The staff and management are outstanding people...very, very personable. If you can't get along with them, then you're probably a social outcast or just a moron! The place is always packed so I guess there's a few people in town and who feel the same as me. As far as the food goes...ok, if you are one of those sickening snobs who feels that the whole world should have the same tastes as you...you should stay away...on the other hand...if you appreciate excellent food at a fair price..excellent drinks...a family atmosphere...pride in service...and beautiful women (and men), however the women are exceptional, then this is the place for you....mj
Grossly overrated, arrogant, overpriced.
We have been to Santa Fe three times, mainly because one of our family members likes it there (the owners fawn upon him). I have enjoyed restaurants all over the world, and find Santa Fe's food to be faux-art. The appointments are nice, but the staff is not pleasant, and, indeed, at least two of the owners are downright rude and arrogant.
The food is mediocre, and overpriced.
No doubt, I will have to return for a family function, but I definitely do not recommend this place. You can find better food, nicer places, better value, and MUCH better service elsewhere.
Awful Experience. Awful experience. We had frequented Santa Fe as the food and atmosphere were decent, even though the service always suffered (over hour wait to order and another to recieve it). On this particular occasion (my birthday), our reservations were lost, and the response was that they were never made. We overlooked this to enjoy our evening. As usual, the wait to even receive our menus was long. At the end of the meal, it was billed incorrectly and the waitress's and the managers response was not forthcoming and aggressive. The amount was paid and settled. THE MANAGER's response to the dispute after it was settled was running down the street to throw the disputed amount in change at our group. Stating, "here is your money!" Please do not support a restaurant that allows a manager or wait staff to become aggressive with their customers.
Would make the guy from Chips proud...
Best Mexican place you've never been. Chips come with two kinds of salsa, both which are very different, but also very good.
Atmosphere is small and initmate and is trendy, yet at the same time affordable and not pretenious.
Great chimichangas and margaritas. Get a pitcher of margaritas for 22 bucks...it gets you about 5 margaritas. Very potent stuff. Love this place.
