“Ryan and Jeff @ the Streets of Woodfield location are absolutley Awesome.”
“From the smiling polite girls who greet you to the warm neck pillows, tea and water upstairs, Asha always makes you feel welcome.”
“Well, I will be back to Asha but only for these talented hairstylists.”
“They also have these warm neck pillows that they rotate between people and it seems as though they dont get cleaned between clients.”
“Although the atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, the workers simply do not know what they are doing, and for the prices they charge, that's a real shame.”
“This is yet another good spa in the area for a quick day of R&R.”
Salon - YAY, Spa - NAY. I have been to several people for haircuts, and all were pretty good. Went in for a facial today - meh. The service was ok, the girl was nice, but WHOA - I could hear a conversation from the other side of the wall loud and clear. Not very conducive to relaxation. Won't return for this service. I let the girl at the front desk know, and she said the first she heard off it was the night before. I read somewhere online about this noise, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. About halfway through all I could think about was getting out of there away from the yapping voice on the other side of the wall. I have also had a pedicure at Asha, which was really good, but VERY expensive!
Terrible Spa Experience, Decent Massage.
I would like to express my extreme disappointment in the experience my sister had yesterday (January 17th, 2011) at the Streets of Woodfield - Asha SalonSpa.
I purchased a 90 minute massage for my sister. She’s really needed it and was beyond excited to recieve the gift certificate. In purchasing this gift, I had high expectations, based on my massage experience at the same salon a few years back. Thus, to my surprise, I was more than displeased to hear of my sisters experience.
Her appointment was set for 5:30pm. She was asked to arrive at 5:15pm. Upon arrival, at 5:15pm, she was asked to take a seat in the waiting area. The same receptionist that escorted my sister to the waiting area, had walked by on several occasions, all the while, not saying anything to her. At this point, my sister has been sitting there for 30 minutes. It is now, 5:45pm (15 minutes after the appt time; 30 minutes after my sister arrived at the spa) and no one has updated my sister on when she might be heading in for her massage nor had anyone apologized for the delay. It is now, 6pm (30 minutes after the appt time; 45 minutes after my sister arrived at the spa) and my sister sees, Veneda, her masseuse, rush in with her coat on. Within minutes, Veneda enters the waiting room and escorts my sister to the massage room. Without saying anything about the delay in service, and barely welcoming her to the spa, Veneda rushes through the foot soak and completes the massage. At this point it is 7:45pm. 45-30 minutes later than when she was anticipating to be finished at the spa.
My sister was so excited for this massage and was brought to tears when she opened her gift certificate on Christmas morning. And now, I am brought to tears, because her experience was not everything it should have been. A very simple update as to why she was still sitting there would have been greatly appreciated. But the oversight of the staff, undoubtedly would make anyone feel invisible and allow their patrons to feel as if their time is of no matter. This, is exactly how my sister felt and inevitably, put her in a bad mood, and she was no longer there to enjoy a relaxing experience, but was getting worked up about having to wait for 45 minutes without any explanation for the delay. This is not the experience I paid for. And I doubt this is the experience Asha SalonSpa wants their clientele to walk away with. Unfortunately, this type of experience leaves a lasting impression on both of us, and is likely to negatively impact Asah's opportunity for referrals and brand image.
This will be the last time either one of us will be visiting any Asha SalonSpa.
Vote for Lola!. I just left Asha and it was amazing! I had a 60 minute massage with Lola. She is awesome! She was very friendly and professional. The whole experience was so relaxing. I can't wait to go back! If you go for a massage, definitely ask for Lola!
ASHA MASSAGE & HIMALAYAN REJ TREATMENT.
I’ve been to Asha in Schaumburg for several treatments recently.
I really like the atmosphere of the spa. It is very quiet and relaxing. The staff is polite and helpful. I love that “Aveda” smell so the scent is very inviting to me.
I highly recommend the Asha massage. I like the choice of scented oils that are presented to you at the beginning of the massage.
I left there very happy and relaxed.
I have also had the Himalayan Rejuvenation Treatment. I have mixed feelings about this treatment. Although it was a calming experience, I don’t feel it was worth the money.
It starts off with a Neti massage, which is a face massage that helps open your sinuses. I then received a body exfoliation scrub. After the scrub, a steam tent was placed over me; first the front half of my body (head to mid back) and then one enveloped me from the neck down. Afterwards, “Tranquilessence” was dripped on my forehead while I rested on the massage table, cooling down from the steam “bath”. Tranquilessence is a liquid that kind of has the consistency of anti-bacterial gel that is supposed to make you feel more balanced. After the treatment was complete, I took a shower (their shower is awesome!) and got dressed. I was then taken to the salon where I received a blow-dry (which I wasn’t expecting).
I don’t think I would have this treatment again; I had preconceived ideas about the experience and I was expecting more.
I would choose to have a combination of the Neti massage and Asha massage instead. I suffer from seasonal allergies and the Neti massage is fantastic.
I was also underwhelmed with the salon and I don’t think I would have any hair services at Asha.
Go for FACIAL/Lillian, but NOT HAIR!!!.
I have had hair and facial services here. I have had microderm. with Lillian (who is awesome, takes pride & cares about what she does obviously) & another girl, who was terrible! I had a touch-up hair color & highlights done on a whim, and it turned out terrible! My hair ended up being orange at the touch-up spot, and the highlights were unimpressive and not mixed well through the layers. She fixed the orange wierdness that I have never experienced in 15 years any where else; but said oh that happens sometimes... REALLY, in what universe! The 2 blow-dry girls were terrible! I have never not liked my hair after being salon blown-out. Please hire experienced staff!!!!
I will never come here except to see Lillian for facial experiences.
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. NO QUESTION!!.
My only quam is the parking situation. Thanks to the new LegoLand next door, we all must leave a few minutes earlier to scan the parking lot for a spot, but it's totally worth it when you step inside Asha! From the smiling polite girls who greet you to the warm neck pillows, tea and water upstairs, Asha always makes you feel welcome. So far, I have experienced one service from each department and have not had a problem yet! My hair colorist Heidi found the perfect hair color to go with my skintone and I am so incredibly happy with it! My haircut is literally PERFECT, not a hair out of place! Thanks to Kelly! As long as I live in this area, I will never go to another spa other than ASHA.
Misuse of the word "spa"!.
So I am just a regular husband that wanted to do something nice for his wife. Unfortunately, I got her a gift certificate for this "spa" in Schaumburg. I have been to a spa twice in my life, once in Scottsdale (Camel Back Mtn), and once in the WI Dells. Both of those places created a total "environment" of pleasure, nice music, serenity, etc. Stay away from this trap/strip-mall in Schaumburg. Despite the description above, this is NOT a "serene setting!" While they may be able to offer a decent massage, facial, or haircut, they drastically overbook their facility. To have a line of 7-10 women waiting for a shower is a joke. To have people actually miss their treatment appointment times due to a lack of adequate shower facilities is also a joke.
They should not be able to use the word "spa." At best, they offer misc. services, but this fails to resemble my 2 prior experiences at other facilities that properly understand what a spa experience really should be.
To my dear wife...sorry...I'll make it up next year honey!
the spa at asha is terrible
i went in to get a facial. first off, the have 2 dressing/locker rooms/toliets. there is literally a toliet just sitting there randomly in one of the locker rooms. there is one sink in between them and one shower. the shower is alright, but it has some giant surge of freezing cold water that comes down on you. why? i have no clue. while i was getting my facial, she used one of those metal tools. i have never in my facial getting life have ever had someone use any scraping tools on me. it was terrible. and when i was trying to relax, all i can hear is the bumping music next door in the hair salon. i was already annoyed with my spa experience , but i was looking forward to my free blowdry from an intern in the salon. when i booked my appointment, the woman who wrote me in told me about it so i was excited. after my shower, i sat in the waiting area for an intern for about 30 minutes. 5 of the hair stylists were just chatting away doing nothing and the intern was just wandering around. so im sitting there looking like an idiot with soaking wet hair waiting. then she starts to blowdry my hair. i'm middle eastern and i have long hair so its long and thick. she didnt even think to separate it. she just started attacking my hair with a brush. i wanted to cry. i gave her my big round brush since she decided to try to tame my hair with those tiny brushes for women with short hair. i still cant get over how bad my experience was. never again!!! if you want to go to a good spa go to the city, spacio is one of my favorites. and until burke williams opens a spa in chicago, nothing compares to their spa in california.
Great Service!. I just had to come on here and express my graditude to the staff at Asha Salon Spa. I was greeted with warmth and kindness as soon as I entered the door. The hospitality staff were friendly and welcoming. I got my color done by Heidi and my cut with Andres. Heidi did an outstanding job at going above and beyond what I could have hoped for with my color. She made me feel so special, attending to my needs and putting forth her grand expertise. She is truely a master of her craft. I would reccomend Asha to anyone seeking the ultimate in full service and luxury in the Schaumburg area. This is surely a place I would call home!
Amazing spa day for clients and for myself.
What an amazing experience. I was entertaining clients who were staying in the Schaumburg area. I thought a spa day would be a nice surprise for them as a way to "de-stress" and have some work-life balance (which spoke to the branding exercise we were working on for their company).
The massages and facials were simply wonderful and the staff was on-point, on-time, knowledgable and delicate all at the same time. My clients have already made appointments for their next trip, and I have made mine as well. Thank you ASHA for a wonderful, wonderful experience and stress relief.
