Salon - YAY, Spa - NAY. I have been to several people for haircuts, and all were pretty good. Went in for a facial today - meh. The service was ok, the girl was nice, but WHOA - I could hear a conversation from the other side of the wall loud and clear. Not very conducive to relaxation. Won't return for this service. I let the girl at the front desk know, and she said the first she heard off it was the night before. I read somewhere online about this noise, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. About halfway through all I could think about was getting out of there away from the yapping voice on the other side of the wall. I have also had a pedicure at Asha, which was really good, but VERY expensive!

Terrible Spa Experience, Decent Massage. I would like to express my extreme disappointment in the experience my sister had yesterday (January 17th, 2011) at the Streets of Woodfield - Asha SalonSpa. I purchased a 90 minute massage for my sister. She’s really needed it and was beyond excited to recieve the gift certificate. In purchasing this gift, I had high expectations, based on my massage experience at the same salon a few years back. Thus, to my surprise, I was more than displeased to hear of my sisters experience.

Her appointment was set for 5:30pm. She was asked to arrive at 5:15pm. Upon arrival, at 5:15pm, she was asked to take a seat in the waiting area. The same receptionist that escorted my sister to the waiting area, had walked by on several occasions, all the while, not saying anything to her. At this point, my sister has been sitting there for 30 minutes. It is now, 5:45pm (15 minutes after the appt time; 30 minutes after my sister arrived at the spa) and no one has updated my sister on when she might be heading in for her massage nor had anyone apologized for the delay. It is now, 6pm (30 minutes after the appt time; 45 minutes after my sister arrived at the spa) and my sister sees, Veneda, her masseuse, rush in with her coat on. Within minutes, Veneda enters the waiting room and escorts my sister to the massage room. Without saying anything about the delay in service, and barely welcoming her to the spa, Veneda rushes through the foot soak and completes the massage. At this point it is 7:45pm. 45-30 minutes later than when she was anticipating to be finished at the spa.

My sister was so excited for this massage and was brought to tears when she opened her gift certificate on Christmas morning. And now, I am brought to tears, because her experience was not everything it should have been. A very simple update as to why she was still sitting there would have been greatly appreciated. But the oversight of the staff, undoubtedly would make anyone feel invisible and allow their patrons to feel as if their time is of no matter. This, is exactly how my sister felt and inevitably, put her in a bad mood, and she was no longer there to enjoy a relaxing experience, but was getting worked up about having to wait for 45 minutes without any explanation for the delay. This is not the experience I paid for. And I doubt this is the experience Asha SalonSpa wants their clientele to walk away with. Unfortunately, this type of experience leaves a lasting impression on both of us, and is likely to negatively impact Asah's opportunity for referrals and brand image.

This will be the last time either one of us will be visiting any Asha SalonSpa.

Vote for Lola!. I just left Asha and it was amazing! I had a 60 minute massage with Lola. She is awesome! She was very friendly and professional. The whole experience was so relaxing. I can't wait to go back! If you go for a massage, definitely ask for Lola!

ASHA MASSAGE & HIMALAYAN REJ TREATMENT. I’ve been to Asha in Schaumburg for several treatments recently. I really like the atmosphere of the spa. It is very quiet and relaxing. The staff is polite and helpful. I love that “Aveda” smell so the scent is very inviting to me.

I highly recommend the Asha massage. I like the choice of scented oils that are presented to you at the beginning of the massage.

I left there very happy and relaxed.

I have also had the Himalayan Rejuvenation Treatment. I have mixed feelings about this treatment. Although it was a calming experience, I don’t feel it was worth the money.

It starts off with a Neti massage, which is a face massage that helps open your sinuses. I then received a body exfoliation scrub. After the scrub, a steam tent was placed over me; first the front half of my body (head to mid back) and then one enveloped me from the neck down. Afterwards, “Tranquilessence” was dripped on my forehead while I rested on the massage table, cooling down from the steam “bath”. Tranquilessence is a liquid that kind of has the consistency of anti-bacterial gel that is supposed to make you feel more balanced. After the treatment was complete, I took a shower (their shower is awesome!) and got dressed. I was then taken to the salon where I received a blow-dry (which I wasn’t expecting).

I don’t think I would have this treatment again; I had preconceived ideas about the experience and I was expecting more.

I would choose to have a combination of the Neti massage and Asha massage instead. I suffer from seasonal allergies and the Neti massage is fantastic.

I was also underwhelmed with the salon and I don’t think I would have any hair services at Asha.

Go for FACIAL/Lillian, but NOT HAIR!!!. I have had hair and facial services here. I have had microderm. with Lillian (who is awesome, takes pride & cares about what she does obviously) & another girl, who was terrible! I had a touch-up hair color & highlights done on a whim, and it turned out terrible! My hair ended up being orange at the touch-up spot, and the highlights were unimpressive and not mixed well through the layers. She fixed the orange wierdness that I have never experienced in 15 years any where else; but said oh that happens sometimes... REALLY, in what universe! The 2 blow-dry girls were terrible! I have never not liked my hair after being salon blown-out. Please hire experienced staff!!!!

I will never come here except to see Lillian for facial experiences.
