Best French Fries in The Country.
I've eaten French Fries all over the city, state, and the U.S. but these are the best I have ever had. They are crispy on the outside, nice potato flavor on the inside, not mushy or overdone, and salted lightly. They are served on a large plate as a side to a sandwich, much more than can be eaten in one sitting, and even are delicious after they have cooled down to room temperature. Fran says they change the cooking oil daily, which accounts for their fresh flavor. I couldn't stop eating them.
The fries came as a side with a Gondola sandwich, a grilled chicken breast covered with cheese and meat sauce, served on sourdough bread. Delicious, done just right, and light on the salt.

clean, friendly, stick to your ribs food. For almost 20 years I ate my lunch here daily, then ate dinner 2-3 times more, then I moved away. I came in one Sunday, a day I never came in on before and the staff & owner asked me why I was there. The Sundays are so crowded, the patrons don't even mind waiting out in our cold, snowing, windy winter days! I quickly became a Sunday regular. Many would go across the street to another place because they didn't want to wait. The next week- they were back. And ya know what- John would welcome in with true warmth & frienship and a coffeeor juice while they waited in line. George, Bessie, John and Fran will make you a friend for life!
