Best Fresh Food. My friends and I recently went to Momotaro Japanese Restaurant and we asked for their specials. They have new rolls which are very fresh and delicious.

I noticed the restaurant has changed its settings. They took away the bright ceiling lights and installed warm pendant light on each table. That makes us feel more private and cozy.

I told my friends to ask for specials. They are the best deals there. (A senior chef told me the secret about specials. He said when the restaurant receives a larger amount of new delivery, it runs special on it. So the specials are very fresh and good quality deals).

Gone downhill . . .. Momotaro has gone downhill over the past few years. My wife and I used to frequent Momotaro at least once a week. However, there was some sort of change in management that resulted in poorer service and food quality.

We now hit Kyoto Sushi when we crave Japanese. Great service, selection and quality.

Edible sushi...lousy service...especially for large parties/groups.. I had the worst time there with a large party in one of their tatami back rooms. Everyone else got their order before me...even though I ordered ONE roll and most everything else was sashimi. By the time I got my order...which I had to ask about three times to the point of rudeness...everyone else had finished eating. And when I didn't tip...because waiting 40 minutes for my food doesn't put me in the tipping mood...one of the waitresses had the gall to ask me if I'd "meant" to not leave a tip.

I just had to say..."Um...yeah...I'm the one who got my order for SASHIMI more than a half hour late. What...your chef forget how to use a knife?"

They probably lost or misplaced my order...and didn't want to admit it. What...were they hoping I'd stop being hungry by the time they found it?

This year...I'm going back for my friend's birthday...but I'm eating somwhere else before I go. These people aren't getting my hard-earned sushi money again. Learn how to handle a group...or don't accept group reservations. Anything else is a combination of greed and stupidity.

not japanese-owned. the sushi's edible and not terrible, but it's not authentic either. seems like the chef is trying to be creative, but it doesn't turn out that well...

A good place for sushi. We've been to this restaurant a couple times just ordering appetizers and bento boxes and they were average. This time we ordered a boat for 2, and it was great! The sushi rolls were well presented and the fish were fresh. Wasabi was stronger than usual but it was all good but a few red eyes and tears shed. The warm Kiri sake went well with the sashimi. The atmosphere was quiet, relaxing, and private. Good place to unwind and nice evening with friends or dates to talk over food.
