What People Are Saying About Noon O Kabab

In Short – Marinated kebabs are cooked over an open fire at this casual storefront restaurant owned by a brother and sister from Iran. Beef lovers have several options, including rib-eye, ground beef and ground lamb and filet slices served on skewers. Stews incorporating beef and lamb simmer in hearty sauces, while eggplant, zucchini and saffron-tinged rice appeal to vegetarians. Desserts feature baklava, zulbia and bamieh.

Wonderful, warm, family restaurant
by aschimmel at Citysearch
What a nice surprise. The restaurant was teeming on a Thursday evening and understaffed according to the help-wanted sign in the window, yet the owner made it a point to come by several times to chat and offer suggestions and ask after our meals - which were, by the way, fantastic. The curried shrimp stew and roasted lamb shank were excellent. And I definitely recommend the Pomegranate Martinis. According to the owner, she special orders a lot of the ingredients directly from Iran and everything else - meats, veggies, etc - is purchased fresh daily. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Brown Line stop. I was a little disappointed that there were no middle eastern wines on the menu, but everything else was very satisfying.
Nothing Special and not a great value

Food was perhaps above-avg., but no longer such a great value. Prices apparently have gone up; wine especially. Worst part of experience, was the Mrs. Owner, who was rude to everyone. At least 6 time during our meal, she berated her new Host right next to our Table -- and, we thought he was nice and doing a good job. Better places to go for this type of food; and prefer BYOB.
- Pros: Food ok and good-sized portions.
- Cons: Mrs. Owner is obnoxious and rude.

my friend and I came across this restaurant while just driving in that area, we were kind of unsure but tried it anyway, and we were glad we did bec it was sooo good! I liked their beef and lamb combinations, their dill rice is perfect and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant.
- Pros: great food at a reasonable price

I use to go to Reza's on Clark St. until I found Noon-o-Kabab. The prices are much more reasonable and the food is better! The cornish hen is marinated and tender. The chicken, steaks, eggplant - oh, taste that eggplant dinner. Amazing. The appetizers are generous, the tea is authentic Persian tea, the desserts are light and sweet. They've recently remodeled, expanding into the next door store. I just hope it stays intimate and friendlywith beautiful Persian music in the background. (I hate it when you go into an ethnic restaurant and they're playing elevator music!) I would have said the same about Reza's at one time too, until they expanded so much they lost that one on one touch. (and became very expensive to boot!) (with elevator music!)
- Pros: Great value, outstanding food and service
- Cons: parking is on the street
Best Persian food in Chicago

I have been to a few Persian food establishments. This one by far has the best tasting food. Whether you like chicken, beef, or seafood, Noon-o-Kabob does a great job. They use a homemade marinade that is excellent in their meats. If you have never had Basmati Rice, you are in for a treat. It is delicious. I believe it comes with each dish. The wine selection is ok. Go there for the food. If you have never had middle eastern food and do not know what to get try the Joujeh Soltani. It is a large skewer of deliciously marinated and seasoned chicken breast, and one skewer of seasoned ground chicken breast served with Persian dill or white rice, charbroiled vegetable and Persian salad. To clarify seating: If you go with more than two during prime time its a coin toss of how long you wait
- Pros: Friendly Staff, Inexpensive, Great Tasting Food
- Cons: Big Group Seating, No waiting area
