Tips for 59 Auto Repair Inc

Plainfield's Best Autorepair Around. Highly recommend this place! They always get my car back to me when they say they are going to. I really appreciate how much time Dan took last time I was in to explain the quote to me and exactly what was wrong. The repair was quick and pain free. I love the workers there and would never take my cars anywhere else!!

Stress free. Car problems are stressful and often expensive.  The mechanics here make car problems slightly less stressful, which is enough to recommend them.  I also feel like I have gotten fair prices from them on the three occasions I have had to visit (compared to what web searches tell me I should expect to pay for the job).  Finally, I appreciate that they explain to me what they have had to fix in my car and why they have done so.  Hopefully I won't have to see them too much in the future, but if I do have car problems, I know where to go.

They just want your money. I got my 99 neon towed there last Tuesday. I do not know a lot about cars but figured my problem had to be the battery. They said the problem was the drive belt and the harmonic balancer. They told me the car could not run without these replaced. They replaced it and I ended up back in there on friday. Now they said it is the battery (which is what i assumed from the beginning) . So they replaced that and of course charged me again for the same tests they ran 3 days prior when it came out to be the balancer and drive belt. Now 3 days later the same thing happened. I am extremely dissapointed in there service and will not recommend this place to anyone nor will i ever take my car there again. DONT TRUST THEM!!!

better than the dealer. for the past month or so, i've been hearing a strange noise from the engine and noticed the suv was not handling the same. i brought the vehicle to the dealer and after a hefty bill, the problem was still not solved. a co-worker reccommended 59 Auto and i decided to give them a shot. i drove in without an appointment, and they took my vehicle in. they were friendly, polite, and accomodating to my schedule( i work unusal hours). not only did they solve my problem, but they were kind enough to explain it to me in laments terms. and the bill was Very reasonable as opposed to the dealer who took my money and did not solve my problem. i would highly reccommend this auto repair shop to everyone!!! The staff was knowledgeable, polite and accomodating. Never again will i use a dealer repair.

always happy. I love 59auto! There is no way that I will ever take my car anywhere else. Magie is always smiling when I walk in the door and asks how my kids are doing and makes sure I get a nice cup of coffee. Linda and Wendy are wonderful. For years they have always explained exactly what is wrong with my car in terms that I, someone who has no clue about how cars works can understand. I never leave confused or unhappy. This place is the greatest, I would and do recommend them to all my family and friends!

great place. This place was great. I had never taken a car in to get it worked on by myself before, and I was super nervous about someone being dishonest with me. The guys here listened to exactly what I said and road around with me and listened to my car so they understood what I was talking about. They fixed the problem very fast for a very reasonable price. I would definitely come back!

Always overcharged. We had our 2001 Jeep Cherokee at 59 Auto to get the window fixed. We paid 59 Auto a total of $381 for the work. We were charged $188 for the part and $172 for labor. The book time to do this job is 1.5 hours, but I'm sure it took less than 1 hour to do the job, so 59 Auto charged $172 per hour for labor to do the job. Highly-paid business consultants don't make $175 per hour, nor should auto technicians or shops. With the right tools, I could have done this job in an hour. I called Autozone in Plainfield. They sell the exact same part for $99 with a lifetime warranty. Having knowledge of the auto retail industry, I know they bought the part for $50 or less since they mark up all parts by 100%. Since 59 Auto charged me $188 for the part, and I'm sure 59 Auto's cost is somewhere close to Autozone's part cost of $50, 59 Auto is making $138 on that one part, or a 275% part mark up. That's outrageous ! Simply put, 59 Auto overcharged me by a considerable amount. Don't get me wrong, I strongly believe 59 Auto should make money on your service and parts. I just don't think

they should be price gouging me every time I visit the shop. Plus, they insist on telling 20 other things that could be changed/fixed that are unrelated to the problem. Everyone there is obviously trying to earn a commission. Very frustrating. Why can't they simply fix the problem that I came in for, and for a reasonable price.

Never going to visit 59 Auto again!

kept it running again. My truck has over 300,000 miles and nearly every part has been replaced at least once with the exception of the motor, when it failed emissions I thought we'd be saying our last farewell to the truck. But, not Linda she said, "Bring in it and we'll see what we can do." When I picked up my truck, it wasn't what I expected. At the very best I was hoping Linda would promise a successful trip through emissions. Hear this! they had already taken my truck through emissions testing successfully. You can't do better than that. From my past experiences with 59 Auto Repair (clutch, shocks, alternator, catalytic converter) it really wasn't a surprise. These guys treat me right and I’m nobody. I am so grateful.

PLEASE DO NO TUSE THESE PEOPLE!!!. ABSOLUTELY POSITIVLY DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLES HERE!!!!!

I was charged over $800.00 for rear brakes on a Chevy Astro Van. Included in these charges were three brake rotors for two wheels. They tried to charge me for parts that they did not use and over charged me for everything. I am disabled and asked them to please help me to get out of the shop quickly. I showed up at 7:30 and did not get my "estimate" till 9:30. I had to wait for the girls to stop gossiping and taking a 30 minute coffee break to McDonalds across the street. After two more agonizing hours I finally got the ENORMOS bill. Do not get taken like me. Save yourself the money and grief. Please listen to me. I do not know how anyone can say anything good about this place. Please do not use them!!!

love this place. I live in Carrilon Lakes, a 55 and older community and today we had a business expo. Rich and Wendy from 59 Auto were there. I have been a long time loyal customer and have a have only great things to say about them. As I was talking to them person after person came to the table (by the way they had the best treats) and said that they were customers and loved them and the great work that they do. I have lived here for many years and always here from my friends how great they are and how everyone should go there. I just wanted to say thanks for always being honest with us and taking such good care of our cars. it is nice to be able to go somewhere and feel so comfortable getting your car repaired.
