an old joint still rockin. i rember years ago this place was called mr beef in the early 80's but turned mid thru from my understanding it's the only real place for beef sandwiches wtih the exception of portillo's chain down the block im still humbled by this chicago/summit place it' s a keeper

Pefect spot in the Garfield Ridge area of South Harlem Avenue for a burger and beer after a day at close-by Toyota Park.. The Scene
You're not coming here for the atmosphere--this is just a fast-food joint on the east side of busy Harlem Avenue. Order at the counter, pick up your drinks, then wait for your number to be called. Separating Beefy's from the competition is the availability of draft beer, served up cold and cheap, either by the pint or pitcher.

The Food
The menu is extensive and everything is prepared as it's ordered, so you'll wait a minute or two for your meal. Stick to the burgers, dogs and sandwich menu--salads are available, but nothing special. The house special is the Italian Beef sandwich, which will serve the largest appetites. Fries are also terrific here. Ribs, rotisserie chicken and pasta round out the menu.
