Food for old people..
Great food, even better service - but - I SEE OLD PEOPLE. When I first read the reviews of this place, I thought, 'what a charming place to take my girl'. When I arrived, I felt like we had be placed in the middle of a geriatric convention. The place is very quiet and has a piano player that reminds me of a department store.
HOWEVER, the service was truly unmatchable and the food was prepared very well. We also had some snails which were great - it just wasn't our scene. So, if you're looking for excitement, better avoid this place.

Best Kept Secret in Chicago.
Friday nights are unmatchable. Service from the owner and family. Food prepared by a "Master". A "Friends" type of place that welcomes you. That and a piano player that has fun. In the co-op converted Historic Edgewater Hotel.

Hidden Jewel.
Another one of those restaurants that I go to that doesn't have a marketing campaign or stands out when you drive by it. But a restaurant that I always look forward to going to. This restaurant is a secret of the Edgewater community that they won't want to let out. The restaurant is never packed or busy on a regular basis, which doesnt' make any sense because the quality of food and value is incredible. I mean... Roast Duck Breast w/ Apple Brandy Sauce and Grilled Shrimps w/ Mustard & Burgundy Sauce... where else in the area could you find dishes like this and where could you go for a price like $17.50 that includes soup or salad, vegatables, AND potatoes or rice????? Once again... HIDDEN JEWEL.
