HORRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE!! - ZERO STARS!!. I only gave 1 star because the site wouldn't let me rate it a zero!!! I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with the 4 less than friendly hostesses that didn't even greet us when we came through the door. We seated ourselves (even though there were 4 hostesses). Then we waited for a server for 20 minutes who never offered us anything to drink. We were never asked if we wanted an appetizer. We asked for silverware and she dumped a PILE of knives and forks in the middle of the table. About 45 minutes into our experience we asked the manager Steph to intervene because we thought he would be sympathetic to our concerns. He was HORRIBLE. He was condescending and rude and ended up telling us that the reason our server was less than par was because she had just had her kids taken away from her and she was allowing her personal life to overlap with her work!! WHAT!! He should not have shared this information with us. He was totally unprofessional and rude. He even verbally reprimnded her at the hostess stand rather than take her in the back where noone could see and she walked past our table hysterically crying. Not sure what he said to her, but she was unable to regain her composure and was crying and trying to keep it together. We asked for silverware and she dumped a PILE of knives and forks in the middle of the table. Although the manager discounted our meal, that was besides the point. The service was horrible and how the manager handled the poor service was unprofessional. I told the manager that we were having a poor dining experience and he never apologized he was arrogant and rude and needs to take some sort of sensitivity training. I will never go to this restaurant again
This is not pizza!.
My real rating is ZERO STARS!!!! I could not post this review adding at least one star.
I attended a reunion at this location this past weekend. OMG! What we were served can hardly be called pizza, much less Chicago pizza! I was one of the organizers of this event and I am embarrassed that we picked this venue. This is not the pizza that I have experienced at the downtown location.
We booked the party room and had to pre-order the pizza. Well, I think they made them three days ahead when we ordered. The sauce is awful, I could not identify the toppings and there was basically no taste. Frozen pizza tastes better than what we received. The service was as awful as the food. Nobody received the type of pizza they ordered. A woman sitting next to me asked for "anything but veggie" so it was a pretty easy order. What did she get? Veggie! I asked for sausage, I got pepperoni and on and on. Also, part of the "party room" had booths where they were seating patrons who were not part of our group. We were having a good time and were pretty loud. Naturally, these patrons asked to be moved as we were disturbing them. The thing is that the restaurant was more than half empty. Who in their right mind would seat patrons next to a party when there was plenty of room in the main restaurant?????
At the time I didn't think about it very much because we were there more for the event than the food. But it would have been very nice to offer the out-of-towners (former Chicagoans) some authentic pizza.
I will never EVER go to this location again. If you are looking for Chicago pizza go to Giordano's, Gino's East or Lou Malnati's.
User review by cirrus2. Great Burgers, Pizza and a variety of great stuff on the menu!! You gotta try it!! ; )
pizza not!. Being born and raised in Chicago, I consider my self somewhat a specialist in the delights of pizza. While shopping at Woodfield we saw Unos' and thought "what a treat". If you are used to Unos downtown or Dues or Lou Malnatis and stop here to sample their fare, you are in for a big disappointment. First of all, they charge you extra for an extra large which still is not as large as the former mentioned regular large. The sausage is worse than any frozen pizza I have ever tasted. The pizza was dry, burnt, thin even though we ordered the special with extra sauce. If you crave pizza, stay downtown or any of the Lou locations around Chicago, Lou is consistant at every location. We left very confused as to the quality diffenence between Unos. We suggest other eateries when at the Woodfield area.
