Outstanding. This restaurant consistently has the BEST Indian food in the Chicagoland area. The staff are friendly and always willing to answer a question or make a suggestion.

The fish is exquisite, but my favorite is the chana masala -- always cooked to perfection. If you're lucky, there will be fresh coconut ice cream on the dessert bar.

This is the best buffet in town and a great value. Enjoy!

Disappointing. Gaylord Restaurant sucks! I "WAS" a loyal customer ... but I am never going back there ever.

My experience from yesterday -

I walk in the restaurant ... I wait for their staff to attend to me and my husband. The manager and wait staff knows we are standing .. yet .. he totally ignores us. Finally after 10 minutes he says "Please wait!" ... Thats all? He doesnt give us an approximate wait time either.

So we wait ...

Then a waiter .. unpolitely .. raises his hand in gesture to call us ... "Ae, you? Come!"

Whatttttttttt? Am I in Bombay at a chaat corner ... actually thats not even close to it .. even they are more respectful ...

So I think .. ok maybe hes having a bad day ..

Finally we are seated .. and then guess what we have to wait for another 20 minutes for someone to take our order .. I didnt mind that since they were really busy. But is that an enough reason for bad service and nonattendance. Even the people sitting on the next table were irritated by the same fact.

We ordered Samosas, drinks, chicken tikka, murgh makhani, rice, naan ... The food was alright. Samosas were cold and seemed to be sitting out for days and the chicken tikka was super salty.

Now here's the most interesting part .. so I have left overs and request the waiter to pack the food. I have paid 65$ + tip (IN FULL, i might add) for 2 people at this overpriced restaurant (which i would not mind if they offered good service and food).

Now one would except to get all their left overs for the food they paid for. Right?

Not at this restaurant. They only decided to pack and return the salty chicken tikka. They kept the rest to themselves. Wowwwwww!

Would you want to go to such a restaurant. If I were you - I wouldn't.

Bad service

Bad waiter staff

Cold appetizers

Overpriced for nothing in return

If you work at Gaylord Restaurant and you are reading this - "You guys need to get your act together or you'll be out of business soon"

Good local Indian food- but don't drive too far for it.. The food is good, although not the best Indian cuisine that I have ever had. Service was very good and waiter answered our questions very well.

Naan bread sort of heavy- not as fresh and hot as would be expected.

Decor is OK but could be updated to meet their often highly-touted reputation.

Great Indian restaurant.. Great Indian restaurant.

We went on a very busy saturday night after freezing our a$$s off and walking from Woodfield mall.

After being told that the wait is over 1/2 hours for the main dining room, we thought it would be even better to sit in the bar area where we could watch the Indian Tv to some smooth beats. But after 10 mins of wait we miraculously got a table.

Service was great, very attentive and not too distracting. The food is amazing. The Chicken Tikka masala and the Tandoori Shrimps were very fresh and flavorful. Decor is romantic with dimmed lights . Not to expensive either, appetizer, drinks and 2 entrees came up to less than $70.

I love love love love love this place. I've been here for dinner and lunch and am never disappointed. I dont know what they put in the food that makes it taste so good. EXCELLENT! Dessert is good too!

Gaylord among Chicago's Best Indian, But that doesn't Mean It's Very Good. It is a well known fact that Chicago is one of the worst big cities for Indian Cuisine. Typical, uninventive, north indian fare is recycled in restaurant after restaurant, with too much oil and not enough flavor. Compared to D.C. or L.A., chicago ranks quite poorly in terms of sophistication and artistry in representation of Indian Cuisine. Consider a real gem, Swagath in New Delhi's Defense Colony, and you will realize that Indian cuisine can be truly remarkable and brilliant. Swagath recently received a 5 star review by the New York Times for the amazing indian cuisine of Jayaram Banan. Every dish we ordered was exemplary when we visited last year. I wish Chicago had great Indian cuisine like Swagath. Gaylord is one of the better Indian restaurants in Chicago, maybe (in my estimation, the best). But it is nothing compared to the Indian fare you receive in other areas of this country. I highly recomment the owners of Gaylord buy a ticket to Delhi and try Swagath. Do yourselves a favor, and see how far you fall short of greatness.

No value for money paid. There is no value for the money paid and the personnel are unhelpful and rude. There is little value for the money paid also. I would not recommend this one definitely. There are much better Indian restaurants like India House (If you want Indian food).

Lunch Buffet. The ambiance and the decor were very good, even our waiters were attentive though we had to ask a few waiters to replace our dirty water glass. I was not particularly impressed with food selection (vegetarian or non-vegetarian) or quality.
