Editorial Review for Woodfield Mall – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
In 1975 Woodfield was the world's largest shopping center, but since then the title has been surrendered. Today, approximately 26 million people visit each year to shop at some of the biggest department store chains in the country--Nordstrom, Sears, JC Penney, Lord & Taylor and Marshall Field's. The five anchor stores are surrounded by 285 specialty shops and boutiques. In addition, there are art galleries, jewelry dealers, shoe salons, booksellers and sports stores.

"I can't understand why everyone thinks this mall is so great. It's alright, but it's nothing special. I guess maybe it's because I am from the east coast originally and we have way bigger shopping centers there. I'm not that thrilled, but I will go back because there's not many other places to go." What are you talking about? Woodfield is the 8th largest mall in the US. There are not "way bigger" malls on the East Coast. If you can't find something else to do in the Chicago area, then you have another problem. Woodfield has big crowds around holidays, and its actually decent on weekends. The mall is too big, you will get tired of walking.
Pros: lots of stores
Cons: too big

If you like long lines and super prices, this place is for you........ Otherwise stay away, everyone says how great it is, but in all reality smaller malls have all the same things and are more accessable and less crowded.
Pros: Tons of stores
Cons: overcrowded, long lines, rude people
