Great hometown restaurant. The Hi View Restaurant, which originally opened in the early 60s, is a family run restaurant with friendly staff and well prepared meals.

I have been a customer of the restaurant for over four years, since I renting an apartment in the neighboring town of Lombard, IL. I work nearby but am a NC resident.

Back then, I would walk (1 mile) to the Hi View on Saturday mornings, converse with the waitresses, and enjoy a good breakfast and coffee. The place does fantastic business.

More recently, I visited two Sundays mornings a month, when in town. The waitstaff is friendly and pleasant. The owner, George, and his son, manage the restaurant. George makes the delicious tapioca and rice puddings. His wife concocts the cream of chicken rice soup and Greek yogurt.

I have inquired about the age of some patrons who I have seen over and over. There are several in their 90s who walk in under their owner power, some with family, some alone. It is evident that families have been coming to the Hi View for generations.

Try the HUGE Oscar Meyer sausage links (3 to an order). I was not aware they made them this size! Crepes and pancakes are delicious. Request fresh strawberries if you do not want the canned variety. Taking a seat at the counter affords you immediate service. Waits for table seating are never longer than 10 minutes.

Can't Go Wrong. I just love The View. Everytime I leave town I wish there was another HiView! They are clean and the food is fresh. Its a good busy little family owned place with great prices and food. Whether its breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I'm always more than satisfied. Sometimes you just wanna go somewhere and simply have a good meal, read a paper, use the free Wifi, or whatever and not feel it in your wallet. thank you HiView for being you! Just wish I could put you in my suitcase!
