Life Time Fitness in Schaumburg. I signed up for Team Weight Loss. Class was supposed to be mostly on Treadmills with weight and strength training built in. It cost over $600 and you had to buy a watch for $150 to ensure you are in the zones. The class was great at first. The personal trainer was fun, informative, enthusiastic. Since it was such a popular class more and more people joined. Hey...the more the merrier. However, things started to go sour when the club signed up more people than treadmills. Suddenly the workouts were not as good...we did more circuit type training...and it was lacking cardio. I'm sorry..but isn't cardio the main ingredient to losing weight when working out? The entire class changed it's dynamic. I talked with the general manager and requested my money back for the last 4 weeks of class since they signed up too many people and I was not satisfied. I got the run around...bounced from talking to him to the personal trainer manager to the actual personal trainer and back to the general manager again. They refused to give me back any money stating I signed a contract and encouraged me to come to class. Not one person from lifetime thought they did anything wrong. How do you base your class on "Zone Training" and working out on a treadmill and then sign up more people than treadmills. One circuit training we actually rolled on rolling boards (not sure what you call them) to get the knots out of our muscles. That definitely did not keep my heart rate up. I truly believe that they just kept signing up more and more people to get money in their pockets. I was the second person to complain to the general manager Paul Russo, and believe me, there were plenty others in class that were also upset that so many people were in the class. Finally I talked with Paul Russo who encouraged me to go to class. I told him he really didn't want that because I would talk to the other folks in class about what was happening and he would have more people upset. He then said I was welcome to cancel my membership since he wasn't going to have that in his club. Needless to say...I cancelled. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. They would not even acknowledge that they had done anything wrong.

Modern and bright, Life Time Fitness is also huge, cheap and family friendly. This is the first Life Time Fitness in the Chicago area, and they really did it up: 114,000 square feet at a cost of $20 million. Along with fitness pros and personal trainers, Life Time gushes with eager young adults who greet and assist wherever needed.
For as little as $50 a month, with no long-term contracts, you get indoor and outdoor pools, each with a waterslide; two spacious whirlpools; steam rooms; fluffy towels; fitness classes; and educational seminars. Then there are the optional extras: personal training, climbing-wall lessons, racquetball and squash, spa services, and a healthy, light-fare cafe. Several coed locker rooms allow parents to keep an eye on their children. The Life Spa is in the same building (open to nonmembers) offering haircuts and styles, facials, manicures, waxing and more.
TIMELY FITNESS FOR LIFE. I have workout at the Schaumburg Club occasionally, however, the Life Time Fitness--Warrenville is my normal club. I enjoy my workouts at the club. The front desk is very friendly and accommodating Life Time Fitness always tries to improve their facility to keep up with the ever-growing fitness industry. The club is very clean and when a machine breaks down, they always make sure they fix it as soon as possible. Also, whenever I need assistance with any workout the fitness staff is always available to help. I truly enjoy my experience here and have total confidence in the staff and this facility.
