Pleasant accommodations in the heart of Chicago.. The Scene
In a newly renovated, historic building, this hotel offers a pleasant setting at reasonable prices. It is less than one mile from the center of Chicago, near River Plaza, Lincoln Tower, the Navy Pier and the Merchandise Mart Expocenter.

The Details
While the lobby is decorated in eye-catching Art Deco style, the standard rooms remain relatively nondescript. They're fairly small and decorated in beige and muted pastel tones. All have desks and basic chairs, as well as amenities such as data ports, voice mail and coffee makers. The king-sized rooms and one-room suites also have microwaves and refrigerators. Deluxe Continental Breakfast and "USA Today" are complimentary. Stand-out facilities include a fancy therapeutic whirlpool and European sauna.

Most Impressive. I usually don't stay anywhere near Michigan Avenue when visiting Chicago, but the price was right and I needed to be as nearas possible to the Merchandise Mart. I was very pleasantly surprised by this chain-owned hotel's service, cleanliness and downright coolness (the room all had high speed . The rooms were small but very nicely done and very clean. The staff was efficient and helpful, recommending unique restaurants in the area that suit me perfectly. And the location (right on the red line El) got you to any point in the city easily. I recommend this hotel highly.
