“r. Bennys has great atmosphere and service.”
“Forget your wallet (Mr. Bennys is overly expensive)”
Mr Benny not a very good experience.
Went to Mr Benny's for our Anniversary thought it would be a very nice experience. However the atmoshpere was a jeans place comparable to (MC DONALDS/DENNYS), even the hostess was wearing jeans.
The building and atmosphere other than being a dress down place was very nice.
The service was excellent.
The food was very over priced, we had the prime rib dinner 30 dollars, mostly fat, very disappointing.
Had 2 drinks down town prices very expensive.
Need to find a place on the south suburbs that is worth going for a nice evening.
Wonderful Everything.
I have been coming here for ages. The food and service are outstanding. This is a place where they strive to "Know Your Name." Known for their steak, but excel in seafood and other specials. I have never been a meat person, but have been known to get the filet with melted blue cheese on top. I highly recommend the Meditteranean Salmon, the perch, the Chicken Marsala, the Zuppe de Pesche, and especially the Linguini with Clam Sauce. The latter is my favorite and in my opinion, better than any I have had downtown!
Also, keep in mind that while average entrees cost from $15 to $30, they come with a relish tray, hot bread, and soup or salad.
Great service/atmosphere but expensive and lacks imagination.
r. Bennys has great atmosphere and service. You can expect to get a handshake from Mr. Benny himself at the bar or at some point during dinner. Stick with the foods that you would expect a Steak and Lobster place to be good at; Steak and Lobster. Anything else, especially the pasta, is really not good at all. Your best bet actually is the Alaskan King crab legs, which are near impossible to mess up. But then again, crab legs are crab legs and those bought at the store and cooked at home will taste exactly the same; Mr. Bennys Crab legs are about $50. Also, another word of caution for the deserts; they all sound good but taste store bought.
To summarize:
<DO>:
1. Order only Crab legs or Fillet Minion (you will be disappointed by anything else on the menu)
2. Enjoy the great service and a hand shake from Mr. Benny himself
3. Enjoy the warm roles
<DO NOT>:
1. Order any pasta dishes (especially not the Chicken Tuscany)
2. Forget your wallet (Mr. Bennys is overly expensive)
3. Order Desert (they all sound good but taste store bought)
