Step off the elevator into the River North studio and take in the lively, friendly and relaxed vibe of Latin Street Dancing. Latin dance rhythms pour from the four brightly painted classrooms where students learn salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, cha cha cha, la rueda, Argentine tango, hip-hop and more. Lisa "La Boriqua" founded the school in 1998 and has taught more than 20,000 students; today there are nearly 20 instructors who teach a variety of dances and bring their own personal style to the studio.

my class went there for a chicago fieldtrip and i learned to cha cha salsa and it was so much fun!!!!!! i love the instructor!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Learn to salsa

This dance studio needs to be your first stop if you're planning on hitting the salsa clubs. During one course (4 weeks) you'll learn enough to get by and not look silly. The instructors are patient, and the atmosphere is light and fun. Singles are more than welcome, as you don't dance with one partner the whole time anyway.

Know Before You Go:
No shoes with rubber soles are allowed in the dance studios: leather, suede, hard plastic soles only. Stocking feet are a perfectly fine alternative.
The Extras:
The studio and instructors are often invited to participate in annual city-wide events like SummerDance, Taste of Chicago, the World Music Festival and other programs.
Save Money:
Students receive a V.I.S. (Very Important Salsero) card every month that they register. Cardholders receive free admission to Latin Street Dancing events throughout the week, and get discounts at local businesses.
