Best Thick Crust In All Chicagoland. I grew up in Berwyn and have always loved Salerno's pizza. They had closed for a few years then reopened at their current location on Grove and returned us our best pizza. This is a true local's favorite. I have always lived in the area and eat pizza more than a few times a month and this place has by far, THE BEST THICK CRUST. I would challenge you to find somewhere better. Crust is always crispy on the outside and just a little soft on the inside. Cheese is always plentiful and of high quality. You can't go wrong with any ingredient, they're all good, just get thick crust. Other dishes are Very good too. If you're getting an appetizer, go with the stuffed mushrooms. They are AWESOME! Owner is always around greeting tables and shaking hands with regulars. Don't pass this place up!!

Great Pizza, Horrible Employees, GROVE & ROOSEVELT. I have ordered pizza from this establishment several times, and the pizza has been really good - and the delivery is almost always at the far end of on time, BUT every time I call to order a total B**** answers and makes me feel like hanging up and never ordering again. I am on the border of finding a different pizza place. It's like they think they're doing you a favor by answering the phone. I would recommend the pizza, but dont expect to feel great after ordering.

Bustling, jovial pizzeria has dished out divine double-dough pies for decades.. The Scene
Families and couples on weekend dates pack this Berwyn favorite, where dark wood wainscoting, trompe l'oeil detailing and sunset-hued stained glass make for a cozy, come-as-you-are atmosphere. Patrons squeeze into the L-shaped lounge to watch sports on two big-screen TVs, while diners scoot into the elevated dining room for garlicky grub.

The Food
Thin-crust pizza is available on request, but the house specialty is the fantastic, filling double-dough pies: Tangy-tart sauce, gobs of gooey mozzarella and dense, chewy crust are a marriage made in heaven. The large menu brims with other well-executed Italian specialties, too, including homey veal parmigiana, zesty marinara-topped spaghetti, and lightly breaded chicken Francaise cloaked in clingy, oregano-specked lemon-wine sauce. Other options include Italian beef sandwiches, saucy barbecue ribs and a platter of chicken a la Salerno with mushrooms and potatoes in spicy wine sauce. Desserts are tasty but skimpy--skip the sliver of tiramisu and go for the turtle cookie dough ice cream pie, a crunchy, creamy diet-buster.

Fantastic pizza. Of all the pizza places I've eaten at, Salerno's rates in my top 5. There's not much more that I can say than that, as I've never eaten in or ordered anything but pizzas. My only gripe is that it can be a dog getting in and out if the lot is full and the traffic on Roosevelt is heavy.

Pizza great, service questionable..... I have been to this restaurant at least 50 times, I love the pizza at Salernos, it is hands down my favorite pizza, PERIOD. The food is also very good, but a bit overpriced; the pizza however is a very good deal. There is only one problem with this restaurant, the service is horrible, the bus boys and girls are always very nice and friendly, but the servers are about 90% of the time very un-attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant for the pizza alone, be very patient with the service, they are not around even when the restaurant is almost empty, but the pizza is great, very, very, very great. I recommend taking the pizza to go, but if that is not an option dont let me scare you the pizza is worth it, the service is not great but dont worry they will not hit you or anything.
