Excellent beef sandwiches. When I worked at O'Hare Airport, I'd go to Jay's Beef for the best beef sandwich outside of Chicago. This sandwich is comparable (quality and taste) to Freddie's in Chicago, but slightly smaller and also less expensive. It has a delicious flavor and tender texture with awesome bread. You can't get better than this outside of Chicago!

giardinera meet beefo !. the beef is simply quality. succulent morsels of paper thin shabu shabu-esque beef, ever so delicately submerged in a savory Italian beefy broth of serenely sweet herbs that complement its eventual marriage with giardinera. This heavenly concoction comes dripping from its own warm juices rendering it so drunken and limp with well spiced happiness it barely needs biting, but rather swiftly surrenders to swallowing. The result of a home made recipe that seems so un-compromised, other beefs should not bare the same name. I will call all other beefs "wet cardboard sammiches" now on. The bread! The bread is an exceptionally chewy variety with a subtle crisp crust that seems the only candidate to freight ship the tender beef to your mouth. The giardinera is again teeming with surprising nuances of spice and pickled pepper combinations. Delicious! fahgetabout provincial Italian cuisine, keep your Puttanesca batali, gimme JAYS beef America!

Jays Beef Best In Town. This is the place where you can get the best beef in town. Forget Johoniees or however you spell it with its 5.00 sandwiches and they are super small. Go to Jays because its the place to be. Ask anybody that has been there and it's the best.
