YUCK... I thought it might be nice to try FG&O as it has a great location, and I often pass it in Batavia.

Unfortunately the service was terrible. We had to wait to be seated, wait to get served, wait to get our drinks, then then it took forever to get our food. When we finally received it, some of it was cold and not worth eating.

The food that was edible was not that great and definately not worth the money. We won't be going back...

The Fox Grill does not serve pizza or a lunch buffet. Just good American comfort food.. The Fox Grill which has been the Fox Grill since before Venice Tavern was located in Batavia is still there in the address listed here. The Venice Tavern was located on River Street in Batavia. The Fox Grill while having an excellent fish fry on fridays does not and has never served pizza or had a lunch buffet. There is erroneous information on several of these websites. Any comments about pizza or recommendations about the lunch buffet should be credited to Venice Tavern on River Street in Batavia. The Fox Grill offers American pub fare with a Friday night fish fry and weekly lunch specials for $3.00. Come in and try the Fox Grill Burger or the Fox Grill Cobb Salad. The pot-roast sandwich is another favorite. Thank you for your time. Hope this helps diners out there. Oh, I forgot, try the Smoked Chicken Noodle soup. A house favorite!

WRONG RESTAURANT NAME--SAME ADDRESS. TOTALLY UNFORTUNATE THAT SO MANY WEBSITES ARE USING THIS WRONG INFORMATION. VENICE TAVERN IS SHUT DOWN AND WAS NEVER THE FOX GRILL AND OUTPOST. THE FOX GRILL IS LOCATED AT 35 N WATER STREET IN BATAVIA. THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO GO WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THE MENU IS GREAT HOMECOOKING COMFORT FOOD. THE MENU IS FAIRLY PRICED AND HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. DRINK SPECIALS AND DAILY CHANGING MENU SPECIALS MAKE THIS PLACE A NEW EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME. TRY THEIR HOUSE SPECIALTY PULLED PRK AND THE BURGER IS ALWAYS GREAT. THE STAFF AND REGULARS MAKE THIS A PLACE TO CALL YOUR "CHEERS".

Great Location, food mediocre. We've gone a couple times for the view (right on the fox river) and in the evenings they close the blinds to keep out the setting sun. The food could hardly be more average. The service is average. There is a limited selection of burgers/sandwiches. It seems the pizza is their specialty which we've never had.

Not recommended due to poor service. We have given this restaurant more than enough chances and each time it has let us down. After having suffered through numerous lost, incorrect and unbelievably slow orders we made it a point to only do carryout because we actually like the pizza. However, after placing a carryout order recently and arriving at the agreed upon time we had 3 different servers tell us 3 different stories about where our order was before we actually got our food 20 minutes after we are told to arrive. On top of that someone at the restaurant committed fraud by adding a 20% gratuity onto our credit card receipt after it was already filled out and paid. On a carryout order. If this was truly run as a customer focused business the manager would be fired. But I have the impression that he is family so they just let him do his thing. Hopefully he will run it into the ground so someone else can take over and manage it the way it should be run. Customers speak with their wallet and people need to let this business know that just because they are one of the few restaurants in town they are not the only restaurant in town.

THEY CHANGED NAME TO VENICE TAVERN. STILL GREAT FOOD AND YOU CAN NOT BEAT THE LOCATION ON THE FOX RIVER! THE LUNCH BUFFET IS EXCELLENT AND A GOOD VALUE! THEY ALSO DO PARTIES AND HAVE BANDS OUTSIDE BY THE RIVER IN THE SUMMER.

Nice porch. Especially great on the patio. Good food and a very good value
