Moonshine

Avoid like the plague!. Let me preface this message with some background. I am a 30-year old, white female living in West Town. I am from Detroit originally, but have lived in Chicago since 2003. I am very highly connected in the young professional arena, being a bar promoter, community service leader, and alumni club board member. I have been to Moonshine for lunch, but never at night. After this past weekend, I will never attend Moonshine for lunch or evening cocktails. I will continue to spread the word of this awful experience and continue to post this review on yelp and facebook. What an awful experience we had on Saturday night at Moonshine. I was with three other hot, classy, professional ladies that night, all decked out from a holiday party. We meet up at moonshine to see our men and what do we walk into but an "Asian Invasion". I was shocked at all the Asians in there - needless to say, I couldn't even make it up to the bar. After one drink, me and the girls couldn't take it anymore. The over-served drunk Asians pushed and shoved due to their excessive alcohol consumption. I approached the bouncer and proceeded to tell him that he had many over-served people on the upper level. I specifically pointed to one. The bouncer walked over and walked away, doing nothing of the situation. I rejoined my group when after ten seconds, the over-served Asian chic elbowed me. My boyfriend flipped out, turned around, and instantly he had 20 Asians on his back about to jump him, including the over-served Asian chic. Being so scared of the Asian Invasion and their massive alcohol consumption, along with the lack of management from the employees that night, we walked out. Me and the rest of the ladies were seriously scared for our lives. The number of people that were crammed into the bar that night was illegal and against fire code. Nothing was done of the situation, so we left. On the way out, the bouncer asked where we were all going and how us “ladies should stay”. (of course he wanted us to stay – we were the only hot white chics in the bar!!) We looked at him with disgust and proceeded to walk out. I can’t stress enough how awful the situation was and how poorly the situation was managed. Get your act together, be responsible, and manage the place! Overall, good luck with your reputation.…

this is to all the moonshine haters. okay first of all i want to start by saying that moonshine is a great place to come and hang out,drink some beers,enjoy the people that surround you,great music,great history,blowing rooftops specials,great food,casual atmosphere....we have it all! we have a free lot,a great organized patio,nd unique design of the place,something different than all those other same old restaurant.im not saying this cause im an employee at monnshine,but i do work there and i see how people enjoy being there,and how there is communication,and laughs all over.we and my co workers always try to leave the place as clean and tidiest.i been to restaurant and they are unorganize,thats why we have our staff and myself working to bring joy and great customer service.there's people here in this website giving bad reviews,complaining about everything,well if we were so bad how come we have our overpacked patio,our great customers who enjoy our place,people that be writing this review dont even know whats what?? they dont enjoy life like it suppose to be done. me as an employee i do know we have our cons,but that dont beat on pros.well i review moonshine as a great place here in the wicker park area nd all of chicago.…

Quality Food, Good Service & Cool Atmosphere. Don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. My waitress was nice and gave us great service. The food is has always been good for lunch & dinner (they have great chicken soup, give you options of grilled or fried, and full or half portions) and the menu is diverse but has mexican flair. And I love that they have a parking lot and outside seating.…
