Something for Everybody.
Something for Everybody: Some call it "Ozzie's" (the late owner), but most call it a frequent stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner, a popular place for not only those in about a ten mile radius, but governmental and law enforcement customers as well. What the County Seat restaurant on North Main Street has to offer is a good conservative menu with wonderful sandwiches, salads, breakfasts and the like. But The County Seat posts a "specials" board with a dozen or so choices for that day only, and that's what everyone comes in for. The prices are reasonable and the owners do the best to make you welcome.
Some notable examples not to be missed: The omelettes are wonderful, but the fried potatoes with onion and green peppers are the finest in the Western Suburbs. Their waffles are better than their competition, their beef comes from the best retail meat market in town. Try the stir fry at dinner, or the homemade soups or anything. You won't be disappointed--you'll come back again. Open daily until nine or so, but closes in the afternoon on Sunday. This restaurant now stands as a working monument to the late Ozzie who passed away in late March, 2006. But nothing has really changed, except that Ozzie is not greeting everyone at each table. But come in for the food. You will leave happy.

When you need. This is the place to go when you just don't feel like making dinner but don't want to go out "fancy". Family run with great customer service and great food. The soup is wonderful. You can always find something on the menu or on the daily specials board that sounds good. The breakfast is good too, with several omelet choices. We miss Ozzie stopping by the table, but his family is carrying on the tradition very well, he would be proud!

Our secret. If you're hungry or bored by the ho-hum menus at most family restaurants, this is the place for you. The menu choices are mind-boggling. It's difficult to spend more than ten dollars per person here. What a nice spot. We're empty-nesters and it doesn't pay to cook at home especially with our different tastes. Check it out.
