Great coffee and delicious shakes! The atmosphere is funky, and laid back and this is reflected in the employees. It's a cool place to go and hang out to have a drink. They have food, but it's nothing special and seems that their focus is more on the drinks.

I have been going to this place since I was in high school, so its been about 10 years now. The coffee drinks are fantastic, hands down some of the best I've ever had. Particularly the mocha shake! Mmmmmm.... Yes the staff can be/act pretentious at times, but not all. Once I was home from college and I needed internet so I came here. The place was crowded, and even though I had a tiny table the staff asked me to move to the back. When my waiter found out his coworkers moved me he was pissed and apologized repeatedly. That was the one truly bad experience I've ever had there. Yeah there are lots of high schoolers and young college students there, but I still come here with my older friends and who cares?! Just because there tends to be a younger crowd doesn't mean you should totally ditch the place. Also, they have the BEST hummus plate I've ever had. Oh, they also have an outside patio which you should definitely take advantage of!

This is a great place. It's a low key coffeeshop where the music doesn't repeat and the drinks are fantastic. It's unique, independent, and female-owned, as an added plus. The service is also friendly and genuine, especially considering that the employees are overworked and underpaid. I have been going to Kafein for a while, and while I know that they used to kick people out after a while, that doesn't happen anymore and in fact, the staff are willing to go to great lengths to make your comfortable/accommodate your requests.
