Low-key, times three. The atmosphere is plain, but the proof is in the pudding--and the dressing and the bold beef roasts and the other gourmet goodies you'll be cooking up in no time. Go for inspiration or go with an agenda; either way, if you need help, the staff is knowledgeable and willing to make suggestions.

The Goods
Who knew that there was a difference between French and California basil? Or that there were so many kinds of cinnamon? You'll find fairly common ingredients like celery flakes and vanilla sugar along with uncommon delicacies such as Mexican epazote, lemongrass and Dundicut peppers. Pure extracts and salad dressing mixes ensure success every time. Blends like Turkish seasoning and Trinidad spices promise exotic eats in an instant. Meat mixes include a brat blend and seasonings for corned beef and sausage. The bonus is that prices are lower than a typical supermarket's.

Incredible. This store has people from all over the area flocking to it (I've heard they do huge catalog business too). Anyway, the spices & mixes they sell here are so good. They have even turned the worst cook (me) into someone who can make tasty homemade salad dressings, perfectly spiced main dishes and all sorts of great things. I have give some of their "sets" to people as gifts. My brother loved the set with lots of hot spices and my mom really enjoys the salad dressing-making set. And my "chef" friend says that all the spices are of highest quality and she can get the best saffron here.
