The homemade, 18-percent butterfat ice cream features signature flavors like peanut butter chocolate cup and New York cherry. Petersen's ice cream used to be on par price wise with other ice cream shops like Cold Stone Creamery, Ben & Jerrys, Brown Cow. Now they seem to be trying to make it by charging the folks who come in an arm and a leg! A one-scoop hot fudge sundae was over $6. A family of four can easily spend $15-20 on dessert. Not worth it!

Out of business. Signs say for lease. Place is empty. Does anyone know why? Took 1st time tour of Oaklawn and oh well...

From a family of picky ice cream people, Petersons is the one place every demands to visit when then come through Chicago! Lucky me, I live within a mile! Great for the whole family. Especially love the hot fudge!
