“The ice cream parlour could use a facelift, but as long as the ice cream is this good, I don't care!”
“Also, a lot of people have said that Homer's in Wilmette is good, however I find their ice cream to be too icy and less creamy than Petersen's.”

Probably the greatest ice cream in the world!!!. Petersen's is in my oppinion the greatest ice cream in the world. It has been a Chicago land and especially an Oak Park/River Forest institution since 1919. Their product is simply much richer and more flavorful than anyone around. Oberweis Dairy is good, but Petersen's blows them away when it comes down to pure taste. Awesome Ice Cream. From a family of picky ice cream people, Petersons is the one place every demands to visit when then come through Chicago! Lucky me, I live within a mile! Great for the whole family. Especially love the hot fudge!…
Long-time Oak Park favorite packs in a crowd for dessert and coffeeshop fare..

18-percent butterfat ice cream features signature flavors like peanut butter chocolate cup and New York cherry. Other favorites include the enormous banana split with vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream, plus savory fare like meat loaf and stuffed cabbage.…
