Oh My God the food is excellent. I come with my family various times a month and I love every second of it. The food is great and chef paco is always greeting his cutomers like they were family and with his Oh My God. The waitress lupe who attends us most of the time is an excellent waitress she gives us great recommendations and she is very friendly and attentive. I would reccomend this reataurant to any body. You would have a great time.
Amazing food and great atmosphere! – This place is amazing! The food is beyond wonderful, the service is amazing, and it's simply like nothing I've ever eaten! It's considered Mexican, but it is not your typical Mexican restaurant. To quote the owner/chef (who is the cutest man I've ever seen!) OH MY GOD! It's just wonderful and you have to experience it to truly grasp the greatness!
Best dining in Oak Park – Chef Paco's passion for cooking is amazing. He is so fun and personable and the food delicious. Margarita's and salsa are some of the best I've had. If you want quality, this is the place to go.
overpriced margaritas – new rebozo was very disappointing - very pricey margaritas.........my friend and I payed almost $25 for each margarita - we had two each!!!!!!!!!! We had an order of guacamole - which was bland, I had the tacos and she had the shrimp fajitas. Our bill was $136.00. We expected to pay more for our drinks cause we wanted better tequila, however we were not told we would be paying $8.95 original price plus $13 for the upgrade. We were shocked!!!! The atmosphere is pleasant and Pablo was pleasant until I compained about the price, he told me down the street their prices were higher. The atmosphere does not warrant a come back.
A great find in forest park – The line for dinner on a Saturday night was loooooooooong (reservations would have been a good idea) but totally worth it. The food was marvelous, the margaritas were potent and the staff was phenomenal. Also, the chef of the restaurant came out to talk to us about the menu and it is worth going to the restaurant just to hear him talk (he's adorable!). It was a great time.
Best Mexican Food In The History of Ever – I went this evening for the first time with dining companions who adore good food, and just happen to be very Latin. Paco, the chef, has a motto for the restaurant, which is "Oh my God!? He's right, and indeed, Se?or. We ordered a seafood ceviche for starters (fresh, with baby shrimp and a modest kick), and it's served in a round of pineapple. Elegant touch, I thought, and creative. The guacamole couldn't possibly be better, or fresher.
For dinner, most of us tried the enchilada special. It consists of four enchiladas made with 6 outstanding, clever moles mentioned by another reviewer here (pistachio, macadamia, etc.). We had them stuffed with chorizo, beef, chicken and white cheese. Perfect combo of sweet, salty, smooth - all very luscious. Paco knows what he's doing, and I would say he is a genius. I've never had a more outstanding enchilada combo anywhere. Another person tried the poblano special, which was to die for. Everything about this food is genuine, beautiful and decadent. I am going to crave their food, and every other Mexican restaurant is going to seem like a run-down factory since I tried New Rebozo. The menu looks intriguing, too, and also covers all the bases - delivering traditional entrees with a creative twist. For dessert, Paco brought us his homemade chocolate ice cream, which had a jalapeno kick. Oh my God - that was brilliant! Sweet and smooth chocolate ice cream with a kick? It sounds challenging for a novice, for sure, but it's my new favorite flavor! How did he do that? Service is friendly, professional, courteous and efficient.
We also had a pitcher of lime margaritas (mmmmm!). They went down like cool limeade. Sweet perfection in a salted glass. It's kid friendly here, casual, romantic, clean and friendly. Paco talks to all the diners, and he kissed us goodnight. I feel like he's going to be our new best friend.
What a restaurant! I have two tests for Mexican cuisine a taco and a mole sauce. The New Rebozo passes both my tests with an A+. Did I say mole sauce? Try 12 different moles! Each uniquely delicious. On any given day Paco, the owner, may have 6 of them. Oh My God! Yesterday they were cashew, pumpkin seed, macadamia nut, chocolate, almond, and I cant remember but they were all great.
This is far and away the best Mexican restaurant in the area. You will be treated like family and Paco takes real pride in his dishes. Be sure and try the specials and youll know why I say OH MY GOD!
Exuberant Mexican eatery draws dates and groups with snappy service, spicy food and sublime margaritas. – In Short
Mexican folk art on stucco walls creates a festive feel at this colorful storefront, where enthusiastic servers dish out spicy platters of Mexican favorites. Popular menu items include tortilla soup, enchiladas, and pollo in mole sauce; you'll also find standard Tex-Mex favorites like burritos and tacos, plus more unusual fare like banana leaf-wrapped, mushroom garnished red snapper. Mango, strawberry and lime margaritas are just the thing to wash it all down.
"Oh my God!" – I crave the food here. I love the enchiladas in any of the mole sauces, pick any of them. My husband likes the bistec dish. The owner is very welcoming and he really does give special attention to each table.
Hospitality and food at its best – The New Rebozo is indeed a treat - for lovers of fresh authentic Mexican food made and served with
the owner's personal attention he lavishes on his guests. We love the specials of the day and the
maestro's energetic and original way in which he presents them and his extraordinary devotion to hosting each and everyone of his guests with warmth and care.
The salsa waits for you with its beautifully hottish freshness, the guacamole cannot be improved and the arangement of the food is as appealing as it satisfying to both, vegetarians and meat eaters.
As to the sauce mole: one should not miss it !!!
THe interior is truly mexican and I find no match to this small and wonderful heaven of Mexican food and hospitality.
To end I can only say with the owner's words:
"Oh my God!"
The New Rebozo is as good as that!
