A cut above other local takeout joints, this cozy, popular spot is smartly decorated with hunter green and shiny brass-backed booths; black-and-white photos of the Chicago skyline adorn the walls. The crowd is a mixed bag of families, construction workers and seniors, all digging into Mickey's namesake gyros and rib tips, plus other popular plates like hot dogs, fish sandwiches, steak burritos and fried shrimp.

Fast Food at its Best. Mickey's is the shining jewel of Chicagoland fast food, and is a model for what fast food should be. Everything on the menue tastes good as I have tried it all. Their Gyros are the best in Chicago. They're not too greasy, great tasting lamb on a fresh pita, with the grilled onions are to die for. The signature burger, the Big Mickey, is a double cheeseburger with a mound of grilled onions, is a meal in itself and costs only $1.12 The shakes and malts are also excellent, the best probably being their pineapple shake. No dish goes near 10 dollars, and you more bang for your buck. The best thing about Mickeys though is its quick service. The line may be long, yet a wait will never be over a few minutes. Pick-up is the most popular option at Mickey's. Overall the best fast food in Chicagoland.
