brides beware - horrible place, horrible service.
Kasia was nice and helpful when it came to ordering, but all hell broke loose when my dress arrived a month before the wedding. I came to the fitting and found a completely different dress waiting for me. Now I do understand that mistakes happen, but the kind of response and service I got from that point on was unacceptable. First, the owner announced that she is not sure if she can help me get the right dress on time (!!!) and furthermore that it is my fault because the dress came in a week before and it might be too late to do anything !!! It wasn?t until I broke down crying that she finally decided to call the company. She was not able to get me MY dress ordered 7 months earlier, she offered either the dress 6 sizes bigger or the same dress in different color!!! Having only one month, I took the second option. At that time I had my shoes, veil and accessories already purchased in white, but because I could only get my dress in ivory those had to be changed. Because of the color issue, and all the other trouble I went through I asked Kasia for a discount but she just laughed straight to my face. My dress arrived shortly before the wedding, it was all wrinkled, bundled in a tiny bag. I got it out of the store in a plastic garbage bag! Alterations that her rude mother offered were very expensive so I got them done somewhere else for much less. The overall process what very unpleasant, Kasia and moreover her mother were very, very unpleasant, yelled at me, made me cry every time I was there. I was very disappointed and couldn?t believe that Chicago still has places with such awful service.
So all the potential customers beware, you might find your dress there a little cheaper, but don?t worry, Kasia?s awfully impolite mother will get the difference back on her expensive alterations. Go to a place that threats their customers right, you do not need the stress when preparing for the most important day of your life ? you deserve better.
What a find!. I went here soley on a recommendation from a coworker that bought her gown at this cute boutique. She and I have similar tastes, so I trusted her judgement, as her gown was absolutely stunning. When I pulled up, I was a bit shocked as my expectation was different of the outside, but I still went in and BOY AM I GLAD I DID! This boutique is truly a treasure in itself like a couple other people here have too posted. You walk in and immediately you see an ocean of colors & fabric. SO MANY dresses! The store had, I'm not kidding, maybe 2000 bridal gowns alone. The store owner asked me for my choice of style and fabric, color and gave me OPTIONS! MANY OF THEM. I saw all moderate to high priced designers (about $300 to $3500). I told the owner what my budget was and she made sure to stay under ($2000). I loved the fact that I was important to her. She kept to my appointment and offered me her 'personal shopping experience' as she promised me over the phone. It truly was personal and she worked with me the entire time, I didn't have to look for her to have questions answered. I fell in love with four gowns, all in a range of prices (one of them was only $550, I couldn't believe it!). I ended up purchasing a $900 dress from Demetrios. She offered me options to purchase out of her stock at a much lower price, or to purchase a new one at an off-price as well. The Demetrios dress she pulled for me, that I ended up buying, was a gown right out of her stock that was in fact brand new. With the money I saved, I had extra money to spend on accessories, alterations, AND flowers! She freshly opened the gown in front of me so I new it was new. I mentioned accessories, the number of hair accessories she had, Oh my god! And they were well priced. The alterations were prompt and inexpensive and were NOT a flat fee. I recommend this place to anyone & everyone. If you want personal service, honesty, and great prices, make an appointment with Kasia's Bridal.
A secret gem everyone should know about!. I just picked up my LaSposa bridal gown and the last of my eleven Alfred Angelo bridesmaid's dresses from this cute little boutique. My wedding is Saturday, and all I could do is rave! The prices were great, the service personal, and I always worked with an owner not some, commissioned teenager. I worked with the two owners through my entire planning process and have to say that this was one of the most pleasant experiences throughout my entire rollercoaster of a wedding. Kasia and Grace really made sure that I was at ease at all times. Even when my crazy in-laws got involved. They get really busy though, so it's hard to come in without an appoointment. But with an appointment, I could never complain. All was done per my (and my bridesmaids) wishes. Colors matched to dye lots, and the alterations were perfect. My frreshly steamed gown was waiting for me today when I arrived - all my gowns are absolutely beautiful and wouldn't change a thing. I have already recommended this cute little shop to friends, and will continue to do so. Small place with a lot to offer! I wish I had known about this place earlier, I would have stopped shopping a lot sooner.
Unkept Promises. For so much emphasis this little independent shop owner puts on making your wedding her priority, it really isn't at all. In fact, every time I walk in there, I have to re-introduce myself and remind her when my wedding is. I had my second dress fitting the other day, and not only did I once again have to remind her who I was, she also had no idea what my dress looked like. When I tried it on, she commented how the cap sleeves on the gown looked just like they were made for that dress...well, they WERE made for that dress. It was designed with cap sleeves, and she had no idea. The biggest head ache in this entire process was that I had asked her to save the fabric from the bottom of my dress after it was hemmed so I could attach it to a jacket my friend is making for my ceremony. I asked this on the first visit. I asked this when I called to check on the dress. I asked it at the primary fitting. When I got to my second fitting after the dress had been altered, not only was there no fabric to be found....but they had thrown it away! Of course they blamed it on the new girl. Here I am two weeks before my wedding, with no fabric in sight. And on top of that, every time I've called to check on the newly ordered fabric, they act too busy to talk, tell me they'll call right back, and a day later, I still haven't heard from them. One last thing, my mom called Kasia to ask about the fabric, because clearly I wasn't getting anywhere. Kasia made up a lie saying that there was only one inch of fabric hemmed from the bottom of my dress, and since it was a scrap, they threw it away. Well, let me tell you...I am 5'0' and that dress was made for a 5'10" woman...do the math. One inch?! Anyway, how much does the new fabric cost? $45/half a yard. She still hasn't told me if they're paying for it.
BEST BRIDAL SHOP IN THE CITY!. I ordered my wedding dress from Kasia for my 11/04 wedding. I had done some research and knew what I wanted and the appropriate pricing. Another shopped quoted me over $200 more than the MSRP and advised me that there was a flat rate of another $200 for alterations. Then, I found Kasia's Bridal. She had the dress, her prices were VERY competitive and get this.....the Casablanca dress was available in a "custom-cut" for a mere $80 more. The dress came in EARLY and fit like a glove. I left Kasia with a great big hug and thank you. She is fair and conscientious.....and most importantly honest.
I wish I had known about this place sooner!. Kasia's was the best. My sister is getting married in a few short weeks, so we needed something immediately. Kasia/Kathy was the best. She pulled dresses that all looked great on the bride-to-be, and gave wonderful advice for us to consider. I went back to choose my maid-of-honor dress, and again we had the wonderful service and great dresses. I only wish I had known about this place when I had gotten married!
