Good Sandwiches. Good food and service. Popular with the lunch crowd so if doing lunch here expect a bit of a wait. Restaurant has very limited amount of seating, so it is best to plan on takeout.

Good and Fast. Eaten here several times, very popular with the downtown lunch crowd. Line will be long at lunch time. Good food, enthusiastic staff and clean restaurant. Limited seat available, best to plan on takeout (special for lunch). Prices are good and so is selection. Highly recommended.

The owners of a Chicago antique shop decided to start serving sandwiches to their customers in 1977--and it ended up taking over the business. As the restaurant expanded, natural woods and antique fixtures were used to re-create the signature, old-time country store look at every location. The warm, fresh-roll sandwiches share this classic character--from roast beef and provolone to the Wreck (salami, roast beef, turkey, ham and Swiss). Malts, shakes, root beer floats and homemade ice cream sandwiches complete the throwback.
