Editorial Review for Beyond the Wall – by Suzanne Carmel
The Scene
Black walls frame a selection of posters and prints, illuminated by track lighting. The casual atmosphere in this busy store encourages customers to browse the books of posters that line the perimeter. A dry-mounting machine is in the front of the room so that customers can watch as their posters are mounted on the board.
The Goods
You can find just about any unframed poster or art print in the store or you can order it from a catalogue. Posters including Impressionist, contemporary, eclectic and vintage designs range in price from 99 cents to $30. Custom-frame your selection for $35 to $300, depending on the size and frame, or select from standard frames. The store will dry-mount posters and prints while you wait for between $10 to $24, depending on the size. Other merchandise includes tapestries, star lamps, note and postcards, and stickers.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasIf you order a poster from the store catalogue, you can either pick it up when it arrives or pay $4.95 for delivery. If a poster isn't in the catalogue, it's put in a "request catalogue" and the customer is called when the store has it.
When to GoEvery Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm there is a rush-hour sale, where all posters and prints are 50 percent off.
Save MoneyOnce a month, typically toward the end of the month, the store hosts its Midnight Madness Sale from 12am until 2 or 3am. Posters are 50 percent off and custom framing is discounted.

I'm not sure what you mean by rude employees. I've been to this store several times and the employees have always been extremely nice. They'll even discount your posters if there's any wrinkles in them. This store has every kind of poster so again, I'm not sure what is meant by them "belonging in a frat house". There are some things like that yes, but there is so much more stuff and there are always sales going on. I think the atmosphere is great although it can get a little crowded at times. As for parking, well I've never had to deal with that because you can just take the train which is right next to the store.
Pros: Crowded
Cons: Cheap

The selection leaves alot to be desired. Most prints available belong in a frat house. The atmosphere is great, the music is great, but the people stink. Every time I have been in the store the employees are rude. You are able to order prints that are not available in the store and pick them up without a shipping charge, but the people stink.
Pros: CHeap
Cons: Rude
