“Sandwiches were fair tea was good except the server did know know how to pour the tea without the tea leaves going into cup (not impressive for tea specific type of event!)”
“The ambiance is casual but the food is fantastic, great quality and taste.”
“Also a great place to meet the girls or even have a bridal shower.”
“Despite the high ceilings and full tables, The Lobby is conversation friendly.”
“Very classy and great price for what you get.”

Mouth melted when having roasted rainbow trout with cauliflower, almonds and tarragon. But the hazelnut financier dessert was to die for. Can restaurant week be every week?
Absolutely amazing dining experience. Beautiful atmosphere, excellent food, and classy. Wonderful place for a romantic, quiet, diner tryst with a lover.
Fantastic Service, Lovely Dining Room, Great Food. I have eaten here many times and am always impressed with everything. The dining room is lovely, and festive around the holidays. The best freshly made bloody mary in town. The club sandwich is wonderful, beyond what one would expect in the american classic sando. I did the chocolate night and it was well worth the money. Live music makes this a wonderful place to sit and have lunch. The kind of place you take your parents, or have them take you as it is pricey. Service is excellent.
Great casual lunch. Lunch here is wonderful. The ambiance is casual but the food is fantastic, great quality and taste. I was catching up with a friend I had not seen in a long time, so we were there for ages. We actually ran into the afternoon fashion tea (which was so much fun) and they let us keep our table and have a drink while we watched all the pretty models and clothes!
Tea Time. Anyone looking to go for tea on Sat. or Sun. this is a great find. And little girls just love it, nice for a Mommy and me day. I prefer Penninsula over any other place in town for tea. You get great tea and great finger foods. Also a great place to meet the girls or even have a bridal shower. The service is great. Very classy and great price for what you get.
Soothing classical or jazz music and a global menu offer diners an upscale dining experience in the Peninsula Hotel..
In Short
Guests at the Peninsula settle into this posh restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fifth-floor space appointed with contemporary furniture overlooks the Magnificent Mile via floor-to-ceiling windows accented by luxurious drapes. Diners enjoy entrees like Penang duck curry, Kobe beef burgers and a Thanksgiving Day sandwich with turkey breast, sage stuffing, cheddar, cranberry mayonnaise and gravy. The popular chocolate buffet featuring live jazz makes it a sweet way to spend weekend nights.
Eating w/ Mom. This place was recommended to me. I took my mom here. It's a very grown up place. THe food was really good and so was the service, but I think I like a little younger vibe to places. Overall a good place, just a l;ttle stuffy for me.
High Tea. went for High tea for a Bday celebration. Sandwiches were fair tea was good except the server did know know how to pour the tea without the tea leaves going into cup (not impressive for tea specific type of event!) Music with cello was elegant touch. THey had the curtains closed and when asked why ...so we could see out onto the deck and enjoy the view they sais" the pullies for curtains were broken at this time" then we realized there was a NBC channel 5 private party on the deck and we realized they really would not open them because this party prob. wanted privacy...well we were paying guest also! Service was fair at best as well!
Christmas tea. Never again! Mentioned the GC when I called for reservations & also told our server that I had the GC. Sat us near a door, so I couldn't see any of the Christmas decor. Service was OK & tea was hot. But when we gave the server our GC that I had mentioned to him earlier, he acted as if he had no idea what it was & made us go to the register. Both he & the other employee made us feel like we were going to have tea & run. Would not suggest the Peninsula for tea to anyone---very bad!
Romantic Locale. The Lobby is a very romantic and cozy spot for dinner. The live music and excellent wait staff were both positive aspects of our evening. Despite the high ceilings and full tables, The Lobby is conversation friendly.
