“This is my favorite bar in Chicago.”
“and great food.”
“It's a great after work place.”
“The service is the best, the food great (and a great deal, with the nightly specials), and the music is good (on weekdays - on weekends it's a bit more mainstream).”
Sports nuts catch the game on the big screens at this frat-friendly Lakeview tap..
In Short
Locals spill into comfortable booths opposite the long mahogany bar to watch Big 10 games or just kick back over brews. Tin ceilings, exposed brick and soft amber lighting make the space feel inviting, even as the decibel level increases. Typical pub grub receives some appealing tweaks: Butter burger toppings include everything from sriracha to fried eggs. And even "light" eaters get some play with wraps like the East Lansing that stuffs fried chicken tenders, bacon, romaine, cheese and honey mustard in a sun-dried tomato tortilla. But lest you forget where you are, there's mini burgers, wings and Tater Tots, a trifecta of perfect sports bar snack foods.
Tales from a Regular. This is my favorite bar in Chicago. When I lived nearby, I was there at least three times a week. The service is the best, the food great (and a great deal, with the nightly specials), and the music is good (on weekdays - on weekends it's a bit more mainstream). It's a great after work place.
What a blast!. A friend of mine introduced me to the Lennox Lounge a month or so and I'm quickly becoming a regular. The food is phenomenal (try the coconut shrimp and the ribeye) and the drinks are just what you'd expect from such a professional establishment. They manage to walk that oh-so-fine line of being trendy without being pretentious, a quality which it is impossible to over-rate. With the Tiny Lounge on the way out, I think I've found my new favorite hangout!
Reserved atmosphere and tasty tapas ease into Lakeview..
The Scene
Spun off by the owners of upscale sports bar Lincoln Station, Lennox Lounge succeeds as a more sophisticated nightlife option for the Lakeview neighborhood. There's no game on here, but rather five comfortable lounges in taupe and 15 stools amid the orange, gold and brown decor. Lamps and candles give the room a welcoming glow as uptempo soulful house colors the sonic backdrop.
The Draw
The casual, restrained clientele tends to be 30-something professional couples and chummy co-workers loosening up. The atmosphere is almost relaxing, certainly amenable to quiet conversation. Lennox Lounge offers an array of British beers on tap, as well as a martinis and other standard bar favorites. The kitchen turns out excellent tapas such as grilled flatbread with mushroom and mozzarella, and fontina and prosciutto fondue perfect for early evening or nighttime snacks.
