Entering the clean, bright interior is like stepping into an "Archie" comic book. Hurrying across white- and black-checkered floors, staff in crisp white shirts and paper hats take orders, polish chrome and shuffle between booths and the full-service counter. Middle-American diner standards dominate the menu--pickle-covered steak burgers, chili cheeseburgers and thick shakes. Healthier options include chicken, chef and taco salads.

Mmm, chili. Is there anything finer than a big bowl of greasy steak n shake chili? Love the hot pepper sauce they serve with it, too. The milkshakes are out of this world also. Burgers are pretty weak--way too thin, there's not much to 'em. But I love me some chili!
