In Short – Takeout is available, but there's plenty of seating for dining at the bar and at tables at this B.Y.O.B. joint. Appetizers include pan-fried gyoza and tako-su: thinly sliced fresh octopus, dressed in light vinegar sauce. More than 60 kinds of sushi are offered, like the Viagra roll (salmon, tuna, scallop, red snapper, squid and shrimp) and the Black Dragon (scallops, eel and avocado, topped with caviar).
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- Not a fan of raw fish? There's katsu--a choice of either chicken, pork or beef cutlets--topped with a slightly sweet plum sauce with rice and salad.

I've been to this place twice and will definitely go again. Reasonable pricing and nice food quality. Great location makes this place unique as well
Yummy!

This is my favorite restaurant! The atmosphere is fun and lively, and the food is great! It's my favorite sushi spot and it's not overpriced at all. Great place to go with a big group to start the night off, as well as a place to grab a bite with a friend. Definitely make reservations, especially on the weekends. You might get lucky and not have to wait that long, but I recommend that you call just in case.

yum. i loved the black dragon roll and the chirahashi bento box had some of the freshest sashimi ive had in awhile. The only thing was that even though there were only 4 or 5 tables, the service was a bit on the slower side. I think maybe the servers forgot about us for a little bit, but I can easily forget about that because the food made my tummy quite happy.
- Pros: fresh sushi, reasonably priced
Fairly priced but short hours
by linasz at Citysearch
We have been customers in Cafe Sushi for more than year having moved into the neighborhood, and have been generally pleased with food. However, one thing difficult to explain about the place is short hours: they close at 9.30 or 10 at the latest on some weekend days.
During our last visit we sat in the outdoor area and noticed at least one big group of people being turned down after 10pm. Even our request for more sushi was turned down with the "kitchen is closed" phrase right after 10pm.
Maybe Cafe Sushi became too confident, but we will look for sushi places that value our business for the future.
- Pros: BYOB, Location
- Cons: Taste, Hours, Service
Great Service, Value

OK, so I'm biased. I live next door and eat here at least once a week. But with all of the restaurants in Old Town and Kamehachi a block away I keep coming back.
Why? It's easy. The sushi is excellent, it's priced fairly, and the service is wonderful! Oz is great and always willing to surprise me with something new.
- Pros: Great sushi, not crowded, reasonable prices
- Cons: byob
