In Japan, an Izagaya is a bistro-type restaurant serving traditional food in a relaxed atmosphere. Oysy follows the Izagaya concept, allowing you to sample many dishes from the traditional to the exotic. It offers only the very best Japanese cuisine at an affordable price. Portions are just enough to share, and we encourage you to sample many different dishes at a reasonable price. Oysy also offers a complete selection of sushi, sashimi and maki from individual orders to chef-selected combinations.

The Scene – At friendly Oysy ("oh-EE-she"), sleek stainless steel mingles with wood benches for an industrial-chic look softened by sage-green walls and windowside boxes of wheat grass. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a sidewalk patio offer great views of Grant Park and the Museum Campus. The crowd buzzes with families early, couples and trendy condo residents later. Service is relaxed and unhurried. – – The Food – The extensive sushi selection includes dozens of varieties of fresh nigiri, sashimi and maki, but the real reason to visit Oysy (meaning "delicious") is to…

Birthday dinner

by ebebanta356 at Citysearch

Oysy is my favorite restaurant in town, so i made all my friends go for my birthday last week! They were great and held a huge table for us. We were a bit loud but they were understanding! Rather than cake they brought over a round of tyku shots!! Maybe it was their fault we all got a bit noisy!!

I'm a regular!

by BrittanyPerk at Citysearch

I'm an Oysy regular and would recommend it to everyone! This place has something for everyone, and it's all extremely affordable!

I went last night with my sister and shared a 3 flavor sushi plate as usual! It has this fantastic combination of flavors. My favorite it the chopped yellow tale and plum dressing!

We decided to share the rest of our meal too. We split a dragon roll, grilled octopus with this interesting miso sauce and tuna spring rolls wrapped in this insane soy paper!

neither one of us was willing to budge when it came to cocktails! We both got the restaurants new tyku cucumber cooler with sake. I's refreshing and perfect with sashimi!

  • Pros: yummy sashimi and share plates
  • Cons: nothing!!!

Great

by 3917 at Citysearch

I went to the Oak Brook Terrace restrant. As soon as I walked in 3 people told me the kitchen was having problems and nothing hot could be served. So what, I was there for sushi anyway.

The waitress was great I order the box lunch and was going to get some other things on the side. she told me NO...was i surprised..She said it was a lot of food. She wasn't kidding. I walked out spending only $25.oo. I did get a side dish. This included a drink and tip.

Usually I spend about $50.00 or more.

Was really happy and full

  • Pros: Very quite and clean
