NO SERVICE OR BAD SERVICE. I was drawn in by the smell and the reviews so my family and I decided to try this place out today. Upon entering, a lady(didn't act like she was the host and certainly didn't act like a waitress) showed us the way to the back of the restaurant (yes the literal back by the washrooms behind the wall of cans. Mind you, it was at about 25 percent capacity full. It was just after lunch. The waitresses seemed really nice to everyone else. Well, i really can't say how nice since we were not served! WE SAT THERE FOR 25 MINUTES WITH MY TWO DAUGHTERS who made there presence vocally known being under two years of age. The waitresses serviced the other(yeah, all white, hmmm) customers but they didn't even ask us if we needed a high chair. Was my 1 year old to eat on my lap? They noticed us by the corner of the eye but didn't take the energy to see even we even got water! My wife asked me if she should see waitress about getting served. I told her, I don't want to be served here if they don't want us here as they made it clear. We walked out, with four staff person, presumably the waitresses and host. They took notice of leaving but didn't care enough to even inquire as to why we are leaving. They knew and I knew, IT still exists. Shame. I am sure the other people enjoyed themselves as they were taking pictures of each other for whatever occasion they where there for. I only wish my family didn't have to be treated like we were not welcome.

Great ribs, awful service!. Hands down the best ribs around! Which is tragic, because their customer service is nowhere near as good as their food. My fiancé & I have been loyal customers of theirs for 10 years. Yesterday our opinion changed, and we will never order from them again. I placed a phone order yesterday for two and a half slabs of ribs. Unfortunately, the person who took the order never bothered to repeat this back to me, and I ended up with (two) half slabs of ribs. I was in a hurry to get home and feed my family, and didn’t realize the mistake until I got home. When I called about this, I was told that the mistake was mine. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that he would call me in about a half hour. Two hours later with still no call back, I called them again and asked for the manager. He inadvertently told me he was aware of the situation. If that was the case, why had two hours gone by with no call back? He then proceeded to tell me that I ordered (two) half slabs of ribs. When I said I ordered 2 and a half slabs of ribs, he rudely interrupted me and told me that I got what I ordered. Every time I tried to talk he kept interrupting me, clearly not wanting to hear what I, as a paying customer might have to say. To his credit, he did offer to let me bring in the food and exchange it for what I had “meant” to order. I guess he thought I would let my family starve for the 2 hours while I patiently waited for him to call. I guess he got tired of interrupting me, because he hung up on me. In my view, the situation could have been resolved if they didn’t take a defensive posture, listened to their customers, and made a reasonable gesture to rectify the situation.

Terrific BBQ served up in a roadhouse-styled dining room, but don't miss the amazing baked beans.. The Scene
The aroma of wood-fired barbecue draws crowds to this long-time family Hickory Hills favorite. During busy times, you may have to wait in the front area, which is usually also filled with those awaiting their to-go orders. Then head into the darkish dining rooms and settle in for a big meal.

The Food
Traditional barbecue favorites obviously dominate the menu, but their are also a number of Greek dishes, including souvlaki (pork shish kabob), Greek sausage, Grecian chicken oreganato and the mediterano (hey, that's how it's spelled on the menu) burger. On the BBQ side, the baby back ribs are soft and meaty, while the beef platter is piled high with crumbled/sliced beef brisket. For a side dish, don't miss the amazing baked beans, laced with chunks of brisket.

great stuff ever. What gets my attention in this restaurant is the friendly stuff that they have there. The girls are too nice and pretty and they go over their way to give the best of service. The food is excellent ribs are mouthwatering and the sauce ahhh te sauce is the best. The ambience is too cute and the patio is real nice.

The Pit Rib House. For romance, sit out side on the patio, it is cozy, not crowded, lights twinkle all around you while you eat and talk. You are seated promtly, and asked were you would like to sit. The menu is simple, but the food is not. The servings are hudge. For those who do not drink, the pop and ice tea is all you can drink, which adds to the length of the romantic talks. If you decide to sit inside you are surrounded by warm wooden furniture and friendly people. Even the washrooms are fun, the walls are lined with little antique toys. It really adds to the entire experience. It is a very nice part of town to visit.

Rib Perfection!. It is rib perfection, if it's your first time there get the ribs, they literally fall off the bone and the sauce is fantastic. I've tried BBQ beef, BBQ pork sandwich and the BBQ chicken and they are always consitently great. Prices are average for ribs, the place is very well decorated and a lot of fun. It gets crowded but they've expanded. As a rule restaurants that server on paper plates bother me a little but it's easy to overlook that here. Otherwise it's top notch.
