A Great Success. For the past three years I have directed a not for profit organization dedicated to putting musical instruments into the hands of children who want to learn. I have seen arts education touch lives.

I am immensely grateful to the staff at the Sabre Room for assisting us in the planning of our fundraiser this past summer. Our event was a great success. We will no doubt return next year and for many more to come!

Sabre Room -- Best Kept Secret.... The Sabre Room is a “Best Kept Secret”. Consider the Sabre Room for your next event.

If receiving "added value" for the dollars spent and having an eloquent event; with the experience of an upscale hotel is important to you; then the Sabre Room is a venue of interest.

I hosted a wedding reception for more than 550 guests in the large spacious ballroom. I greatly appreciated the courteous wait staff and the “attention to the details” of the sales staff to fulfill all logistical requests.

The entrée prices were affordable and the food was delicious and served hot. Hot food is important because it speaks to the organization and delivery /timing of the kitchen staff. Special thanks to the Sabre Room’s Leadership (Janice, Yvonne, Art, & Rudy), in helping to make our wedding day a great success.

A Fantastic Night. My daughter recently had her wedding reception at the Sabre Room in Hickory Hills. I was a ball of nerves all day but as the evening went on I was able to relax and enjoy the party! The staff was incredibly helpful and reassuring. And the food! We were served family style and the food was delicious!

I have no idea about some of the comments below. Art showed us the Crystal room the first time we visited and we instantly fell in love with the space. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with each step of the process. Overall we could not be happier!

This place is historic!. My wife & I were married here 20 years ago. We were so happy that we had our daughter's quinceanera here. It was also great.

they ahve let this place go to the dumps. Art Golden is rude and should not be allowed to manage this palce - a trained monkey could do no worse - get the junked cars out of the parking lot clean up the alcoves and side rooms they are full of junck get rid of all the chipped china and at leat pu someone in charge of all events - SHAME SHAME SHAME ON WHAT YOU AHVE DONE TO THEIS HALL .

Grossed Out. First off I do not know how this venue has not been shut down by the FDA, the building has rust all over it, and looks as though there has been no updates since it was biult in 1920. The staff was very poorly dressed and very unprofessional, our food was poorly managed and given out to the wrong people, my husband ordered beef, and after waiting for it for over 15mins while everyone else at our table was already eating he had to return it twice bc it was still so bloody. The mashed potatoes were from box, nothing was from scratch. It is sad that when a bride at her own wedding is sick bc she is upset at how her wedding has played out. A guest at our table went up to the bar to get a coke and when he came back he had noticed that the glass was broken and there was lipstick on the rim. An over all review, if the bride and groom paid $10 per person they were over charged!!!! Never will I ever go back to the Sabre room if my life depended on it!!!!

The World Famous Sabre Room. Family home style cooking. Everything is cooked from scratch. Owners do the cooking and they take great pride in their work.

Our family has celebrated Thanksgiving dinner at the Sabre Room for many years. We gather from as far as Wisconsin to start our holiday season at the Sabre Room.

My parents 50th Anniversary. The Sabre Room made my parents 50th Anniversary a great success. The room was beautiful, everyone is still talking about it, the food was delicious, and the staff was wonderful. I will contact them next spring (2010) for my son's communion. They will get my business guaranteed.

Best food and show in town. I was at the Saber Room for a dinner and show on Feb.14 and My husband and I thought the

food was great and service was also good.. My steak was cooked the way I ask .

The show was also great .We will be going back again. I have told all my friends to go there.

I would hope that when my girls get married they will use the Saber Room . We didn't find

any bad smells. Please try it out for yourself .

Worst Banquet Hall in Town. The website boasts award-winning cuisine. Nothing I had last night was remotely award-winning or even cuisine. Dehydrated potatoes mixed with MARGARINE, frozen overcooked vegetables, undercooked chicken, frozen beef with gravy from a packet and "minestrone" soup that also obviously came out of a packet is not remotely what I'd classify as award-winning cuisine. Furthermore the service was appalling, the staff ill-prepared, and the timing disturbing. The salad was being cleared away from a portion of the guests before another significant portion had even received the soup course! I've HAD good food AND good service at the Sabre Room, but what I had last night was nothing short of disgusting. Furthermore, serving food nearly an hour after its scheduled time AND THEN turning off the lights for the Christmas Variety Show while the guests were still eating was utterly insulting. I've never had a worse experience at any banquet hall on the whole of the South Side and I've been to dozens of events in the area. A banquet hall's reputation is made or broken on the strength of its service and its food. If I could possibly give it, this one would receive a negative score. Don't waste your time booking your event here, the place has gone completely downhill.
