Fun Bar!!!. I was there like three weeks ago with some friends of mine on a saturday. We had three tables up front. They had karaoke going on. In between songs the dj played good music!!! Fun with group of friends. Good service, @ one point I was sitting at the bar with my back face it and a bartender even tapped me on my shoulder to see if I wanted another beer. That's the kind of service I like. Oh!! I only saw pretty bartenders!
Best McBar Ever. The Crown, or the Clown as it is commonly referred to, is a fabulous place to watch football during the NFL season. The service is often great, sometimes very busy. The menu is slightly above average for a pub, but usually delivers good comfort food mainstays. The decor is like ordered from "buy an Irish bar . com" or something but is strangely effectively authentic. Basically a great neighborhood establishment that me and many of my friends frequent often. I would go there again because of the sometimes quarky service, usually with a group of friends. It is not really a singles place. Good for groups. Beware of understaffed days when there is an unexpectedly popular sporting event.
Absolutely worst service. The food is good. if you can ever get served. We used to go here every week but stopped because of bad service
Great bar for sports. Sunday football became a staple in my schedule here - great times. On normal weeknights, there's always a great crowd and cheap deals going on. You will walk out of this place happy without a dent to your wallet if you take advantage of their specials. The best combination of sports and neighborhood vibe in the Lincoln Square area. Beware, service may be a bit slow, so if you're looking for a beer I'd recommend a table-topper or pitchers.
Irish-themed North Side bar attracts a neighborhood crowd with satisfying amenities and excellent daily specials..
The Scene
Snugly dressed waitresses bustle around a long bar and tall wooden tables in the expansive, wood-and-stone main room. The crowd of blue- and white-collars react to athletic action on televisions, creating a sportier environment than in a traditional pub; up a few stairs, a smaller bar section maintains a similar atmosphere, when open. A third area, basement-level and compact, adds a lounge nuance, with low-slung seating and small plasma screens, though a pool table dominates the space.
The Draw
Besides ubiquitous TVs, Celtic Crown's non-consumable attractions include an Internet jukebox, dart boards and a fireplace. But most patrons are lured by good regular prices and hard-to-beat daily deals on the wide selection of food and drinks. The full bar serves eight drafts, from Bud to Bass, and nearly two dozen bottles. Eclectic, better-than-average eats include quesadillas, corned beef sandwiches, barbecued ribs and pasta marinara. Brash service is a drawback.
Good Food, Good Drinks, Good Crowd. this bar seems to have it all - good looking people, good drinks, good food and GREAT VALUE!! It makes it all worth the WAIT... literally! The waitstaff is friendly, but less than expedient and often the waitresses are working too many tables to offer great service... get past this and you have found a new hang out - showing most all sporting events on several large tvs and three separate rooms for drinking this place is one of Lincoln Squares gems!!
WORST SERVICE EVER. The food was good and cheap, but the service was AWFUL! Also, if you're looking for an 'Irish Pub' feel, go somewhere else. This place is more sportsbar than true Irish Pub.
