One of the best places in the US to play Bar-Pool

North Beach has officially been named one the TOP 10 best places in all of North America to play "Bar Pool". This distinction was awarded to North Beach in 2008 by www.Bar-Pool. com -- the only website dedicated to identifying where to play pool in bars, tavern and pubs (not pool halls). This award was given based on several criteria: 1) two or more pool tables which are coin-operated (so you can challenge), 2) a fair numbers of players on any given night, 3) the skill level of the players, and 4) a willingness by the players to take on challengers -- to mix it up. Can't do much better in Downer's Grove

I enjoy stopping by on an occasional weekend night to see whats happened here. It's really 4 separate sections for those who haven't been there. Up front is a dance room with Dj's, which I hang around if the ladies are looking alright. The next room is a tiki bar where live bands are found. Watch out for the bands, on occasion they can drive you out of the place! With the exception of Cold Water Mystic, see review on them! The 3rd room I suppose you can call it that, is a huge sand indoor volleyball court and next to the tiki area is cosmic bowling. Like I've said it can be a good time, depends on the night an u cant do any better if you are local to Downers Grove and are up for seeing some new faces.

• Pros: Large place, can see alot of new faces
• Cons: Drinks are pricey, can get very crowded on weekends
