Service With A Smile. The staff is friendly and helpful. Vera was great at helping me find the right product for my hair. I always look and feel better after every visit. Wonderful service at a great price.

Jimmy. So, I had been seeing Jimmy at Salon Diva(Evolour) for years. He's a wonderful stylist and the location was great (close to me in the Roscoe Village area). Evolour was recently taken over by new owners and Jimmy made a move to a salon at Broadway and Diversey. This wasn't so great for me and my commute, but I was willing to make the move for Jimmy. Well, my luck changed when I found out that Jimmy will be here(Southport Hair) 2 days a week. He is here on Tuesday's and Thursday's-give him a try, you won't be disappointed!!!

Great haircut!!. I LOVE my haircut, and I'm very, very picky. Vera really listened to what I wanted, and worked with my hair type. I'm so happy that I found Southport Hair Studio on Citysearch--the reviews were right!

Best Haircut for Guys. After spending my college days going to the HairCuttery, I decided that spending about 10 bucks more would be worth it if I got a good cut every time. I tried some of the other salons in the area, but I ended up paying upwards of 40 bucks for crappy service and a crappy head of hair.

I decided to go here on a whim after reading the positive reviews. The staff are extremely friendly and caring, and I have never been asked so many questions about what I wanted in a haircut. It's rare to see a salon care about details of your haircut, especially for guys, and it makes all the difference.

Best cut and color ever!. I was fed up with salons in Chicago. Over the last 9 years, I have been to about 15 or 20 salons, never returning. A lot of times, I just went for months without getting my hair done because I didn't want to deal with being disappointment by another salon. I was paying a lot of money for horrible service and not getting what I asked for. I was also tired of being told how my hair was going to be done instead of asked how I would like it done. That all changed when I read the reviews about Southport Hair Studio and went for my first appointment.

Vera is amazing! She asked what I wanted done and worked with me to get what I wanted. I have been going there for almost a year now and I always leave feeling great.

The salon has a feeling of a small town shop, with friendly service and lively conversation, but I leave there with a much better cut and color than I would ever receive at any overpriced salon. The services are very reasonably priced and I don't feel like I was just robbed when I walk out of there.

Make an appointment, you won't be sorry!

Best Decision. After scouring Citysearch for a reputable hair salon in my neighborhood, I decided to make an appointment with Southport Hair Studio. I was able to get in one day after I called, on a Saturday no less, and when I arrived, Tip greeted me immediately. I didn't have to wait even 10 seconds! Tip sat me down and we chatted about what I wanted done. He really seemed to know what style I wanted to achieve. Under an hour later, I had the best cut ever! Tip was a master with my long layers and he cut my bangs exactly as I wanted them. The reasonable price included a shampoo, cut, blow-dry, and style. The salon's environment was comfortable and low-key - not uptight or snobby. Products for sale were arranged on shelves and readily available for purchase, but I was not pressured in the slightest to buy them. The salon's staff was very friendly as well. I would recommend this salon to anyone and I plan on returning myself. And because I didn't feel pressured to buy any products on the spot, I just may go back and pick some up.

Fabulous Cuts, Fanstastic Colors and Friendly Staff!. If you're looking for the best cut and color you've ever had, this is the place to come. I've been a client for over a year now and always feel fantastic when I walk out of here. Vera listens to what you want and executes her cuts and colors with true professionalism. Regan and the rest of the staff are always very friendly and down to earth. I feel lucky to have found this place and would recommend this salon to anyone- whether you're looking to keep up your favorite look or hoping to try something new they've got the staff and skills to leave you looking your very best!

Small Town Charm. I would highly recommend this salon. I went in with my roommate and we were treated like royalty. We even discovered that there is a $10 discount for students, which can never hurt. Vera was our stylist and was very sweet and truly did what we asked of her when it came to cutting our hair. In the hustle and bustle of Chicago it was nice to come to a place with small town charm and genuine people. Plus I got a great haircut and some fantastic product. Go here. You won't be let down.

Great place for guys to get a haircut. Call and make an appointment with Vera if you're looking for a good haircut. Much better than the strip mall Supercuts nonsense and not all fruity like the salons. I've been going here for years and I always have a good cut.
