I've been going to Bohemian Crystal since they were in Berwyn. For the first time I was disappointed with the food and service. Everything was just so-so but the mashed potatoes were out of a box and watery. And no liver dumpling soup except on Wed, Sat, and Sun!! That's like no gyros at a Greek restaurant. We were a party of 5 Czechs ; so we have had a lifetime of experience with this type of food. .But don't judge this restaurant only on our most recent visit. It could be that they were having a bad day.

I always enjoy myself when I go here. The wait staff are very polite. The food is to die for! There is not one item on the menu I have not had. The breaded pork, sauerkraut, and dumplings with gravy is my favorite. The duck is a special treat and it is crispy and moist. The portions are large and the prices are low. Parking and seating can be a challenge when they are busy. Dessert and coffee (save room) is a wonderful way to end the meal. I highly recommend this place.

This place is pretty well regarded as the best Czech restaurant around, and I agree. Fabulous food, from the roast pork to breaded pork tenderloin, fruit dumplings, goulash, duck - you name it and it's excellent. All the standard Czech favorites are on the menu and all come with the obligitory kolach for dinner. Prices are very, very fair. The only drawback is that it is increasingly difficult to get into this restaurant without a 45 minute wait (don't even try on a Sunday when all the retired folks are there.)
