A disappointing experience at a normally good restaurant

I've been going to Bohemian Crystal since they were in Berwyn. For the first time I was disappointed with the food and service. Everything was just so-so but the mashed potatoes were out of a box and watery. And no liver dumpling soup except on Wed, Sat, and Sun!! That's like no gyros at a Greek restaurant. We were a party of 5 Czechs ; so we have had a lifetime of experience with this type of food. .But don't judge this restaurant only on our most recent visit. It could be that they were having a bad day.

Excellent food!

I always enjoy myself when I go here. The wait staff are very polite. The food is to die for! There is not one item on the menu I have not had. The breaded pork, sauerkraut, and dumplings with gravy is my favorite. The duck is a special treat and it is crispy and moist. The portions are large and the prices are low. Parking and seating can be a challenge when they are busy. Dessert and coffee (save room) is a wonderful way to end the meal. I highly recommend this place.
- Pros: Open for lunch.
- Cons: Closed Monday.

NO "LOW CARBS" HERE

WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT A RESTAURANT THAT YOU CAN CONSISTENTLY RUN YOUR FINGER DOWN THE MENU AND ANYTHING YOU PICK WILL BE GREAT.! DON'T MISS THE ROAST DUCK AND TENDERLOIN COMBO. I'VE BEEN GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT SINCE THEY WERE IN BERWYN YEARS AGO. NOW THE ONLY GREAT ONE LEFT IN THE BERWYN AREA IS "RIVERSIDE RESTAURANT". IF YOU WANT HOME COOKING AND A SELECTION OF ITEMS NOT FOUND IN UPSCALE RESTAURANTS, THIS IS YOU STOP. PRICES ARE RIDICULOUSLY LOW, CONSIDERING THE QUALITY, QUANTITY, AND CONSISTENCY OF THE FOOD
