“Bed was not very comfortable.”
“Extremely helpful staff, nice large rooms.”
“10/day. Hotel may be more expensive, but it's worth it.”
Put the L in Luxury. This hotel is definitely a luxury hotel. The rooms are spacious, so comfortable, with amenities galore. The service is refined and tending to your needs. Even though the bed may indulge you to stay in it a little longer in the morning, please get up to enjoy the breakfast spread. So worth it!
Convenient for both business and leisure in Chicago..
The Scene
An opulent atmosphere at almost (but not quite) reasonable rates is what this hotel offers. Lots of greenery and ornate furnishings populate the subtly lit lobby. The property is located in downtown Chicago between The Loop and the Magnificent Mile. Guests can walk to Navy Pier. Lake Michigan water activities are nearby.
The Details
Over 500 guest rooms have work desks, speaker phones, voice mail, data ports and high-speed Internet access. A newspaper is delivered Monday through Friday, and in-room coffee is free. Numerous meeting spaces include a Grand Ballroom. Dining ranges from snack fare at Cuisines Cafe to American cuisine at Great Street. The Lobby Lounge is a popular watering hole for visiting executives.
Management Needs a Clue. Having been very satisfied previous customers, this last weekend proved that management no longer cares about the hotel. The service, except for a very nice lady in housekeeping, was non-existent. No one would bother to open the front door for us as we struggled with our bags, the alarm clock jolted us at 4 am - no one bothered to reset it, the elevators were messy and the last straw was enduring the staff at the hotel restaurant during breakfast. There were a number of children running wild and no one on staff cared that this was incredibly disruptive to many of the diners in the restaurant. Waiter loudly cleared dishes and worse, our table had hair on it after the plates were cleared. All this can be yours for the low price of $36.00 for 2 people for breakfast. We will never return and will let EVERYONE know it.
Best in the Loop. Best in the Loop area. Having stayed in other hotels in the Loop, this hotel feels more up to date and more comfortable than rest of the hotels in the area. Only drawback is the lack of upgrade rooms for the platinum members. This is a busy hotel, need to book early unless status allows guarenteed reservations. They also have smooth elevators for elevator-phobic people. They also have unlimited phone call and DSL internet package for $10/day. Hotel may be more expensive, but it's worth it.
super. Extremely helpful staff, nice large rooms. Bed was not very comfortable. Request lake or river view. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
