The Scene – Cozy and low-lit, this Club Quarters Hotel restaurant's handsome back room attracts businesspeople with warm earth tones and polished chandeliers; one wall is rakishly covered in wooden wine box panels. A few high tables perch in the front bar area, while a handful of outdoor tables offers sunny views of Wacker Drive and the river beyond. – – The Food – The hearty, homestyle Italian menu offers plenty of variety, from overstuffed panini and fresh pastas to salads and main courses. Bruschetta brimming with ripe tomatoes and fragrant with garlic is a favorite…

What a great find for a lone traveler...thanks
by merchant589467
After a crazy day traveling to Chicago, lost bags, missed flights, and cell phone left in the cab. I was tired, a bit angry and very hungry. I had plans to go to a fancy little joint, as had no bags and it was getting late I needed FOOD! Staying nearby at hotel 71 (great hotel, bad food) i stubbled on this great little italian joint...WOW! service, food both top notch. Sat at the small bar as place was packed. The very nice lady took great care to make my visit very enjoyable. She offered a great wine and rigatoni with sausage and roasted red pepper sauce...off the hook good. The next night I was to dine at The Purple Pig...rated top 10 in America...after much disappointment w/ food there, see review...I ended up back at Bella. Great Pizza...nay... outstanding PIZZA! go, you will love it.
Good Food; Terrible Service
by FixIt
I can't deny it, this moderately priced pizza place has very tasty pizza. However, the last time I visited this place I was double charged. For the past three weeks I have asked to speak with a manager to get this issue resolved. Not only has everyone I talked to be exceptionally rude, but nobody has bothered to call me back. There "It's not my problem so I don't care," attitude is getting very unprofessional. Considering how often our office places large orders Bella Bacinos, you would think they would treat their guest better.
Good downtown Chicago Pizza
by bokworm
We got the home delievery Sat. night. House salad w/ basil balsamic vinagrette- alot of vinager in that dressing BUT the greens were very fresh and tasty. Kinda small amount thru, but what do you expect with this ecomony. Also, the stuffed Spinach Supreme with the extra free mushrooms- great cheeses and alot of spinach. Seemed like a sprinkle of mushrooms. Flavorable sauce and the crest was better then some of the pizza places in downtown Chicago. All in all, a nice thick and large (we had a medium 12") pizza with a enjoyable salad (with our own dressing). Oh, the delievery time was very quick, for a Saturday night, and the delievery person was super nice. Next time we plan to "bus it" there and get a thin crest pizza with extra mushrooms.
- Pros: Fast delievery here in the city
- Cons: Small amount of salad with not so great balsamic vinagrette dressing
AMAZING place!

My boyfriend and I had reservations here after a night out and as soon as I walked in I was wowed. The atmosphere was great! Old Italian decor, cozy and romantic. Our server was superb and very attentive. The fresh-baked bread and olive oil was a fantastic starter. We ordered a small deep-dish pizza which was perfect for the two of us. The pizza was perfectly cooked: soft flaky crust, gooey cheese, delicious sauce! Definitely try this restaurant!!!
- Pros: food, service, ambiance, price
- Cons: none!
Good, healthier pizza in Loop
by valerie_jung
Bella's is a great standby for pizza in the Loop. Unlike most Chicago restaurants, esp. pizza places, the menu contains many healthful options and gourmet toppings. The atmosphere, which looks fairly formal, belies it's reasonable prices. The owners should open up a more casual version which caters better to "on the go" patrons.
